They did a good job explaining and triple checked for leaks before they left. Of course they tried to upsell and gave us a metal trap they did not quote us upfront for. We would have chosen it over plastic, but price difference would need to be cleared upfront. That's the only negative. Otherwise, thus far we are very happy with the result. They worked carefully and even managed to get the stump out manually, without harming the surrounding succulents. They also took out an old plum tree that storms had brought down, doing the job without damaging any of the plantings around that tree (we decided together not to take the stump out in this instance due to the proximity of other plants -- they consulted me on each question that came up during the work). They pruned an out-of-control bougainvillea and cut down a couple very tall, but dead, cypress trees. Finally, they cleaned everything up perfectly, and even sawed the plum tree into logs for us. And to top it all off, they charged considerably less than the quote I got from another tree service."
