"Our whole experience was great. From the first meeting with Andrew to talk about the design, to the final walk through with our project manager Alvaro I felt that my needs were well taken care of. We only had a couple minor issues during the whole process and they were handled quickly and effectively. I would definitely recommend CA Smartscapes to anyone wanting a backyard remodel!"

"Kevin is awesome. He did the work quickly and made sure everything was perfect. I’m hiring him again to do a chandelier install and to add an outdoor outlet for my water feature."

"There were defects in a cooler thermostat that I had purchased for Alltech to install, which, by the time it could be identified as "bob," or "bad out of the box," had damaged two fan motors, and I was pleased that Alltech stayed on the problem 'til it could be made right. The installation project itself also had some quirks that Alltech was happy to work out."

"Secure Home Improvement was very responsive and came to my home to provide estimates and advice for a solar panel installation. We received 5 quotes from around the county and Secure was the only one who addressed the fact that there needs to be a good roof underneath the panels. (It should be obvious when you think about it - solar systems are designed to last 25-30 yrs. Will the roof treatment under it last that long?) When armed with this knowledge, I asked another solar installer about the added cost to update the roof after panel installation and they indicated that it was no big deal. They would simply remove the panels, stack them in your garage or yard and put them back again - at a labor cost of $600-$800!
Anyway, Secure's price was competitive with the top solar contractors and Secure's price included a 30 year PVC roof coating that would last the life of the system.
Secure worked as quickly as they could. Most of the delays were caused by waiting on the city agencies and utility company to approve the project, the net metering agreement, the final inspection (which turned out to be a slightly iterative process) and the final approval to flip the switch. The only fault that I found was that I went for days on end without knowing the status of the job because the city took forever to approve the project. It would have been nice to get the occasional e-mail or phone call explaining the reason for delay, just to let me know that they haven't forgotten about me.
From the time I gave them my deposit to the actual installation took about 2-1/2 months. The final approval took another week on top of that. This was better than some of the other contractors which quoted 4-5 months.
I would highly recommend Secure Home Improvement for your solar needs.

"It was a good experience.  The inspector was knowledgeable about the pool and he communicated well with us the inspection in connection with the home.  He gave me the information I needed to get the pool in good shape."

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

The primary difference between a steam shower and a sauna is the type of heat they produce. A sauna generates dry heat using electricity, while a steam shower creates wet heat from steam, resulting in nearly 100% humidity. A steam shower typically replaces an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and operates at a lower temperature (around 90-120°F) than a sauna, though the high humidity can make it feel just as warm. It is advisable to limit steam sessions to 20 minutes. In contrast, a sauna is a fully enclosed space that can be placed anywhere in a house and produces dry heat.

A home sauna may be considered a luxury item by some homebuyers, which can provide a good return on investment. However, whether it increases your home's value ultimately depends on the buyer, as some may not want to take on the extra costs and maintenance associated with heating and upkeep.

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.
