"The Energy Solutions team did a great job! The men arrived on time and kept on task. They cleaned up as they finished each day. The clean up & new insulation has made a significant improvement in my home. I am very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend them."

"When Celso A. came to my house for an estimate I was very impressed by his professionalism! Got up in the attic to scope out the work involved, then explained everything the job would entail. They, then. sent me (email) with a couple videos to show how the actual job is done! Very interesting and informative! When they were finished Celso had taken lots of pictures to show what was happening in the attic. I also received a certificate of completion! I would highly recommend CAV, Insulation Inc."

"I was impressed with Aaron, the owner. He thoroughly explained what he was going to do, and took before and after photos of the job. I have noticed a big difference in the comfort level of my home. The HVAC unit rarely kicks on, as the insulation is holding the temp much better."

I have had them since 1994 because I like the service and stuff provided to me. I have several properties in Alabama and they have done work there too. I have not had any problems out of American Home Shield. Their responsiveness is one of the main reasons why I continue to use them. The price is included in my premium.

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.

Popular wall textures include orange peel, knockdown, spray sand, and smooth finishes. Orange peel and knockdown are particularly common choices for drywall as they are simple and cost-effective. Orange peel texture has a lightly bumpy surface resembling the skin of an orange, while knockdown (sometimes called knockout) looks like a stucco finish with flattened high spots. In contrast, popcorn texture has fallen out of fashion, partly due to its past association with asbestos and a shift toward more restrained interior design styles.

You can usually tell if you have plaster or drywall by touch (plaster is harder, colder, and smoother than drywall) or by tapping on it (drywall sounds hollow, plaster does not). If you still cannot tell, peek under an outlet cover and check the cut edges. The rough edges show the composition of the wall. You will see either drywall (two paper sheets sandwiching gypsum material) or only plaster material (no paper sheets).

If your home was built before the 1940s and was not remodeled in the past 50 or so years, you probably have plaster walls. Aside from assuming, there are some practical ways to tell if you have plaster walls, including the following: If you knock on the wall and it feels solid, not hollow, if you can’t insert a thumbtack easily, if there are cracks that look like spiderwebs, or if your home has curved, arched, or swirled walls, doorways, or window openings.

If you have an unfinished basement or attic, you could examine the backs of any finished walls to check, too.

If your premixed drywall mud is dried out or has begun to set in the bucket, you may be able to revive it by adding warm water and stirring. However, the first and most important step is to scrape off any hard, dried bits of drywall that may have accumulated toward the top of the container and throw them away because they will not easily reconstitute back into the drywall mud mix.
