So Cal Builders & Design IncWanted to take a couple minutes out of the day to say thank you to SoCal Builders&Design particularly to our contractor, Ilan. He did a great job completing our ADU conversion. Ran into a major hick up due to the whole COVID19 issue but he kept us informed and ensured that work did not stop once construction started. Ilan kept us informed of how the whole process was going to be from start to finish. He did not go over our set budget and numbers didn’t change from what our initial contract was. Even after the job was completed he continued to follow up to ensure everything was good and ensured that he sent out his workers for any small issues that may had come up. Ilan was a very friendly and reliable person. We are very grateful for his help with this home improvement project. And of course thank you for following COVID protocols definitely a must with these times.- Raul M.

Supreme Remodeling IncI worked with Supreme Remodeling last year to rebuild house for me in Burbank last year. It was a long and arduous project that involved demolishing 50% of an old house down to the studs and then building an attached addition from the ground up. I sent out my completed architectural plans to at least 15 different companies, and took interviews with many of them. Received bids from maybe 5-6 different ones. Here's what the difference was. First of all, Micky the owner of Supreme remodeling took the initial meeting himself. He was in no way pushy or salesy in any way. He was patient (it took a month for me to come to a decision). I was able to look at ACTIVE construction projects that he had going on. He was extremely knowledgeable on all of the new building trends and he has a good eye for design. Once I signed on, it took about 9-10 months to complete. He has a good roster of subcontractors that he works with. But his inside guys Eddie and Ronell are outstanding. In the end the real difference that sets Supreme apart has to be the service. Micky and his staff are very available and responsive. Even on a Sunday night he's active and communicating the following weeks work. If there's an issue he's on top of it. And even though the initial cost of the project was high, you definitely get what you pay for and to be honest, it is a very common experience to have contractors to offer you a lower price just to rope you into a situation where they constantly barrage you with extra charges during the project because they weren't "in the contract". All in all I would definitively work with Micky and supreme again in the future on any projects that I have coming up.- Frank C.

SOD Home GroupWe hired SOD Home Group for our complete home remodel, and the results are amazing. We’re the owners of a 5,300 square foot home in Los Angeles area that we purchased new in 2005. After all those exceptional years with our three children and pets, it was way pastime for repairs and a refresh. We interviewed several general contractors, and we selected Oren and his team at SOD Home Group because of their experience, knowledge, and vision for our home. They transformed our outdated, worn-out home into a modern showcase. They took the house down to the wood framing. They removed walls to open up the house. They installed bigger, modern windows to open up the house to the outside. Doors were replaced. The kitchen was refreshed with new cabinets & upgraded appliances, floors and a much bigger center island. The upstairs balcony was rebuilt with a modern glass railing. Walk-in showers were installed in all the bathrooms. They designed and installed a unique revolving television wall in our master bathroom. The construction crew always worked hard to please us. SOD Home GroupI recently purchased a fixer, and I wanted to rebuild everything and to place it back in the market for sale. The project included removing all the interior up to the studs and to change also the layout so it will have a large open space and modern.I got 6 estimates when trying to find a contractor to do a large project, and this was my first sign that Oren and SOD Home Group were a step above all the rest. The other estimates came as a price estimate through a text message and via phone calls, and nothing more. Oren completed a full scope-of-work in the contract, while paying attention to my wants and needs for the work. He presented the 3D design contract in a branded folder with additional forms and instructions and went over it with me for several hours. Oren set the expectation of what materials I needed to purchase and what he would supply at the onset and pointed me toward where to purchase many high-quality materials at a good price. If I had questions about pricing or materials, he was available via phone, text or facetime to consult and let me know if I should purchase it or if he could find a better price for a similar product.Once the work began, it proceeded quickly and Oren handled all the coordination from start to finish. His wonderful teams were thorough and polite while on site, answering all my questions and taking my requests or suggestions into consideration. End result- the new house looks amazing! I couldn’t be happier. I’m a real estate agent so I work with a lot of different contractors and I can tell you most of them are horrible. SOD Home Group pays attention to the business and customer relations aspects, not only the work to be done, and that means a lot to me. Mickey and his team took our small 1960s kitchen with very limited storage space/living room and redesigned a beautiful and efficient kitchen, living room, and bathroom with a modern open floor plan. Throughout the process, Mickey saved us money and time where he could by advising options on materials/parts and solving unexpected problems that came up along the way. You can trust Mickey and his team to get the project done right. His crews was not only professional, but they also respected the work site and our privacy. While the remodel was going on, we had multiple neighbors compliment on not only the progress, but how clean and neat the work site stayed. Construction MastersMoshe, Mickey and the guys at Construction Masters did a stellar job on our huge home remodel. We added a second story to our small 2-1 craftsman bungalow in Westwood, nearly doubling it in size. We also moved a kitchen and living room wall and completely gutted our very old kitchen. We basically rebuilt the entire home, while doing out best retain and restore the character of our older home. We had tried to start this process over a few years, running into snags and unethical contractors along the way, and are so happy that we landed in the capable hands of this team. At every step along the way, we felt honestly communicated with and cared for on a personal level. They were top notch as well as courteous and considerate of our neighbors. Not only did they do a remarkable job and make our house the talk of the neighborhood, they went above and beyond to really be sure we were always 100% happy with all of the work being done. Even with the pandemic hitting right in the middle of our project, they managed to finish within our original timeline as promised. Construction MastersHome remodeling is always difficult territory. You want it done right. We worried about finding someone who would make our vision possible. Moshe made all our worries and fears disappear. He is an incredible general contractor with great knowledge of what needs to be done. Not only on the construction side, but also on the design side as well. He was able to start our project earlier than expected and finish before the deadline. We had multiple projects we wanted to complete, it made sense to go with a general contractor, so we did not have to deal with multiple workers/people getting in each other’s way. Everything ran smoothly through Moshe's direction. He was patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable about what needed to get done and how it needed to be done. We had new ADU built from scratch. A kitchen remodel in the main house, recessed lighting put into the living room and rec room, fireplace tore out and redone, new shelving and cabinets installed in the living room and rec room. We also had a washer/dryer moved from one location to another. If we need future work done to our house, I will hire Moshe back in a heartbeat. Construction MastersI highly recommend Construction Masters. We obtained 3 quotes for fully remodeling our Los Angeles home and they were not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Moshe Cohen got the quote back first with great detail and specificity. He suggested ways for me to save money including using his contractor discount from vendors he used a lot. He was able to start quickly and he finished the job exactly when he said he would. Every week he kept me informed and proactively informed me of substandard wiring once he started that would not pass inspection. Moshe passed through this item without tacking a fee for himself. SOD Home GroupSOD Home Group is seriously the best group of people to work with! They turned around my complete house - kitchens, bathrooms, floors, patio, backyard and studio were all renovated. It was a complete overhaul and a tremendous job. Everything was so well done, but in particular I need to give a shout out to the work they did converting the garage into an open plan studio unit I can now Airbnb. That work is truly beautiful and has been noticed by guests and realtors for its quality! To give you some context–before SOD Home Group redid my house, it was an old house that had been shown little love over the years. The original bathrooms were in such a sad state–the showers leaked into the basement whenever the water ran. There was little to no natural light in the house at all. Eden from SOD Home Group helped me to redesign the entire house to modernize it into a beautiful home! Oren oversaw the entire project for 18 months so really so much credit for this job goes to him (see further down for even more of my recommendation!) We started with the bathrooms, which was a complete overhaul of the tiling, toilet, shower, vanity, etc. For the shower, they tarred and sealed the base of the shower completely–which has turned out beautifully. Then we did the kitchen which again was a complete overhaul job. Cabinets, countertop, appliances, cutting a hole in the wall to accommodate the new countertop island… it was all handled so well! Then we did floors… for the entire house! These floors are gorgeous–they’re treated reclaimed barn wood with beautiful texture and grain. I recommend asking for them to be double waxed (just my preference) because I like to make sure they’re very smooth, but some people prefer the rougher texture under foot. All the walls inside and outside the house were completely painted. We worked hard to figure out the color scheme. Oren has a great sense of color–he was such a great help in this process!!! I went with a simple gray and white for the exterior paint, which let the natural red brick and wood of the craftsman shine through! I’m so happy with the results–it makes the house look brand new!!! Then the Pearl team moved on to the garage/studio conversion. This was such an epic job I can’t even describe!!! As we began digging, we found that the old garage unit was missing a foundation! Because of city regulations, we couldn’t move any of the existing walls in the remodel, so Oren and his amazing team actually dug under the existing structure and installed a cement foundation!!! This was an epic undertaking and we followed the city codes very closely. Everything was done to code and done amazingly well! The results really speak for themselves, so look at the photos–I now have a 400 sq ft open plan self-contained studio I can rent or AirBnB for additional income! And finally, the team moved on to the backyard and patio! This involved knocking down existing brick wall and digging up 6ft deep concrete installed by the previous owner, which was a complete eyesore to the property! My backyard isn’t big enough to accommodate a bobcat, so the team spent weeks digging up this concrete slab with jackhammers and shovels! What was installed in its place is a beautiful firepit, garden wall, and a new cedar wood fence. They also installed pavers as footpath and new garden boxes for growing herbs. Oren also brought in a team to install a patio cover, which now provides beautiful shade for parties during the day! SOD Home Group did such a great job throughout the whole house, were so professional, and really went out of their way to make sure everything was the best. I had my home revalued shortly after the renovation and it skyrocketed in value because of the work from SOD Home Group. Finally, if you get the chance to be so lucky, ask to work with Oren. You’ll be thankful you did! I’ve worked with him for the past 18 months and I can say without a doubt he put his heart into the project and went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the results. He has impeccable taste, attention to detail, and a big heart for his clients - all winning combinations for a stellar project manager! He has a wonderful network of people who can get him the best deals on materials - he’s loved and trusted by his team! Oren follows up with his clients to make sure everything is working perfectly and to make sure you are truly happy with the result. Oren is a truly good, honest and hardworking guy and I’d work with him again in a heartbeat! I cannot recommend SOD Home Group and Oren and his team highly enough! My home looks gorgeous. I interviewed three other contractors and am so glad that I decided to work with Butel Construction. Shai had many ideas and suggestions for ways to remodel my townhouse, to make the best use of a small space, and to create a kitchen that looks contemporary and airy. Shai listened to my ideas and incorporated my sense of design with the result being the perfect space for me, in terms of both my lifestyle and taste (the other contractors seemed to have one look that was used for everyone). The workers were professional and highly experienced. One of the cabinets was scratched when the dishwasher was installed and the Shai immediately told me not to worry and that it would be replaced. My home was left extremely clean at the end of each work day. My brother also used Shai to remodel his kitchen and I have recommended Butel Construction to several friends and colleagues.

As first-time homebuyers, this was also our first renovation work! I made a call to AGA based on a friend's recommendation, and they quickly arranged for one of their project managers to meet me at the house and discuss our ideas. I'm so glad they sent Guy! From our first meeting, I had confidence that AGA could handle our projects (big and small). As the project manager, Guy helped us define the scope the project and was ALWAYS accessible and responsive. Guy was onsite most days and texted me photo updates to keep me informed. The electrician, plumber, tile specialist, paving/hardscaping, and other workers he brought in did an excellent job. They worked quickly and well, and always left the job site tidy. Guy at AGA is a master of managing the schedule--and the client! I really appreciate how well he communicated with me about decisions that needed to be made (and by when). If you've done remodels/renovations before, you know how many decisions and purchases there are to make, and it can get overwhelming. Having Guy as our PM meant that the work progressed very smoothly (and especially it meant that my indecision did not delay the work either). Finally, I always felt that Guy had our best interests in mind. When surprises popped up (as they tend to do when you open a wall!), Guy was great about presenting us options (and how much they would cost) so we could make a decision. The bulk of our initial project was done on a tight timeline, and the AGA team completed it on time for us to move in to our new house when our lease was up. We ended up adding a few additional smaller projects on the end because we were so pleased with AGA's work. The AGA main office was also responsive in answering questions about invoices and other matters (thanks, Tami!). Regardless of the size of your project, I'd recommend giving AGA a call (ask for Guy)!

Unfortunately a lot of wasted time with no bid or communication as to why. I called So Cal Builders on March 10 to ask for a bid for remodeling work on my condo. Since I am conscientious about time and wanted to be straight forward with what I was looking for I also emailed them a request for proposal as a presentation which explained what I was lookin for in my remodel. Our meeting time was scheduled promptly for the next day with Natali. After taking off from work and asking my tenants permission to walk through the unit, I explained in detail what I was looking for to Natali and she assured me that she had everything she needed for a bid. She did not text me until March 18 with a note asking me for my email address (even though my email address was in the presentation and their office had already emailed me before) and stated that she wanted to follow up. I responded immediately with my email address and asked if she would like to talk? I never heard back from her with either a text nor an email message. Subsequently I called on March 30 and spoke to Alex and he said that Natali would get back to me ASAP. That was five days ago. This Thursday will mark one month since Natali walked through the unit and promised a bid. Waiting this long for a bid is not normal and not the average waiting period as other General Contractors have submitted their bids within at least 1.5 weeks of the walk through.
