"Last month we moved our 3 year old apartment to our newly build home. One of the main difficulty was moving our $1500 kitchen reno safely. Some high cost items there. My office staff said about CalState moving company when I needed a professional service. Their moving team in morning with their truck and we talked about a fair service fee. I was extremely pleased with the service.  The reason I chose this mover was because they specified that they would do small jobs.  They have a 4 hour minimum, but said that would probably be able to do the initial move in two hours and the second part of the move in the remaining two hours, and charge me the $200 for 4 hours.  However, the second half of the move took slightly longer, due to the need to apply felt pads to all my furniture and more carefully place it on the new hardwood floor.  These movers took amazing care, setting up a "staging area" at the top of the stairs where thick moving pads were put on the floor. Each piece of furniture was placed there and the felt pads were put on before the furniture was moved into place.  I had purchased felt pads in advance, but when we ran out, they had some in their truck and provided them free of charge.  So the additional $50 charge was for the extra hour it took to do this very careful move, and well worth it.  There was no damage at all to the new floor.

The movers were very professional and the owner Mike is very eager to please his customers.  He called to follow-up with me and see if I was completely satisfied.  There were two small issues.  I have three floor and it is extremely difficult to move large furniture up and down the three flights of stairs, so slight problems always occur.  In this case, the corner of my couch was dirtied in the move, however, Mike said I should call a professional upholstery cleaner and he would pay for any costs.  Turned out I was able to clean it myself, so all was well.  We also had some confusion over the time of arrival on the final moving day, but when they arrived, they did a superb job.

"I was immediately impressed with Meathead Movers from my first phone call to their company about 4 weeks before my actual moving date. I had the great fortune of working with Ali over the phone and she was always extremely friendly, knowledgable and encouraging. Moving can be a confusing experience and very rarely ever fun, but Ali informed me of every level of service that Meathead offered and never tried to "up-sell" me into something that I did not need. I started off with a contract that included a truck and three movers, but after moving a lot of the smaller items myself in the days leading up to my move, I was able to conveniently pare down my contract (thanks to Ali again) to just having two movers help me move my larger items via a U-Haul that I rented. I was also fortunate that those two movers happened to be Steven and Reno. They showed up promptly and immediately came up with a game plan. After going over a small bit of paperwork, they even offered me a chair to sit back and relax while they did all the hard work! As advertised, they ran back and forth from the truck as they loaded it and did the same when unloading at my new residence. They were careful, professional and worked extremely hard. From beginning to end, Ali, Steven and Reno made what could have been a stressful experience into a pleasant one. "The 3 Kings team was excellent! I hired four movers at the owner's request (who, by the way, is very personable and helpful) as I was in the unique circumstance of moving to a third-floor apartment and in possession of quite a collection of books. I was a bit nervous about that fact - I'd looked at several other movers and reviews mentioned little about upper floor apartment services. 3 Kings were one of the few that actually responded to my request for a quote via Angi, and did so same-day. They were communicative, prompt and outlined every step of the process. Their quote was accurate and they were realistic about the challenges of my move. They treated my belongings with care. I did notice a few scuffs on a furniture piece here and there, but nothing that wouldn't have happened during moving anyway - and none of my belongings were otherwise damaged or broken. Moreover each and every one of the workers was polite and hard-working. Major props to the team for lugging my items up four flights of stairs on a hot day. They were outstanding.
