"We were extremely pleased with the service provided to us by Bob's Air Repair and their technician Luke T. The heating in our HVAC system was failing to launch when turned on, although it made noises of an attempt to do so. From the time we placed the service request to Luke's arrival everything was handled in a efficient & professional manner."

"Jed went above and beyond installing my new ceiling fan. He had to get some supplies and worked in my hot attic and made sure that it was wired correctly. This involved cutting through the old inside wood 2nd layer roof to get to the hidden electrical wires where he put a junction box and new wiring for the fan and light kit. He stayed longer than necessary and completed the job that night after working all day. He is a consummate professional and I will hire him again. through"

"I own a business and had a company come out to fix our air conditioner. They came out 4 times, charged for all those time and the unit still was not working properly. I then decided to try someone else, so I called Thermotech on the referral of a friend. They came out, diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes (it was an old crumbling circuit board), showed me that bad part, ordered it and had it fixed in less than 24 hours. We have not had a single problem since! I was so happy with their service that I ended up using them for my home HVAC system.. I even referred them to a family member and they did a home install of a brand new HVAC system and they were very happy with the price, install, workmanship & fair pricing. Thermotech has found a customer for life with me. I have had so many bad experiences over the years with other companies telling & thermotech has been a game changer."

"Yesterday it was 112 degrees and so it was the perfect evening for our AC to go out. We tried cleaning the coils and all the DIY tricks we could think of, but when we woke to the house still being in the 80s we knew we needed a service call. Dereck Nail was familiar with my HVAC from prior to starting his own business so it made sense to give him and his team a call. He got back to me quickly, understanding the importance of our household of 5 relying on not just comfort, but safety as well, and said he could squeeze me in the same day between appointments. He arrived at 9 am, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the broken $30 part. He is handling the warranty paperwork as well. In a time of huge businesses that treat you like a transaction, it's nice to see a company that exudes the hometown feel while still maintaining a high level of professionalism. It's like the old family doctor who you can get to know and who will take the time to explain the issue and make proper recommendations. I will definitely continue to work with Innovative Heating and Air in the future."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes. Getting a whole-house dehumidifier can help you save money on energy bills. How? Your home automatically feels cooler when there’s less humidity in the air (“It’s the humidity that gets ya!” is such a true statement). This means that you won’t need to run your AC as much as you would if you had all that extra humidity in your home.

No, you should not attempt to replace an AC evaporator coil yourself. This is a complex task that must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. The process involves handling hazardous and flammable refrigerants, which poses significant safety risks. Attempting a DIY replacement can also cause further damage to your HVAC system and will likely void its warranty. It is necessary to hire a local AC repair professional for this job.

In some cases, yes, portable air conditioners are worth buying. They’re a relatively affordable option for cooling small spaces. (On average, they cost between $100 and $500 per unit.) Plus, they’re easy to set up, and you can move them around to cool various parts of your home as needed. However, they aren’t the most efficient AC option, and they tend to be noisy.

Yes, it’s important to turn off your AC sometimes to give it a break and prevent it from freezing up. If your AC runs all the time, your system’s parts will wear down quicker, which may mean that you need to replace it sooner. Plus, using your AC constantly uses more electricity and leads to higher energy bills.

If you know how to identify supply and return ducts, you’ll find that only the supply ducts will have dampers. Although your return ducts can have dampers, it’s not common. If you have one return duct that is pulling in too much air, adding a damper to it can help with overall system performance. However, dampers on return ducts are not a necessary addition for most homes.
