"Jose was very good to work with. His people did a great job overhauling the landscaping on my entire 1/2 acre lot. They removed overgrown trees (including difficult stumps) and bushes leaving no trace they were ever there. They installed new sod in the back yard and planted new plants and ground cover all around the lot. I highly recommend Jose."

"Privado put in new sprinkler valves, a new control box, and drip irrigation for 12 potted plants. They also capped 7 buried sprinkler heads that were covered by the work of another contractor when we had our lawn replaced and crushed granite brought in to replace the back lawn. The work was done in a couple of days and was completed so neatly and the ground restored completely. I would not hesitate to recommend their work to anyone contemplating this type of job."

"Hector and Cynthia were awesome. Cynthia reached out lightning fast to follow up with my information request and Hector was about to come over shortly after that to inspect my yard and give me an estimate. He got my sprinkler system back up and running and also helped us with some landscaping of our shrubs in the front and the trimming of a tree that had far too much growth. I felt that the prices were reasonable and the work was top-notch and professional. Highly recommended!"

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Slit seeding takes about two to three hours for a medium or large lawn. Even bigger lawns or commercial properties can be seeded in about one day. From there, it will take about two weeks for the grass to start growing and another six weeks for the grass to establish stronger roots.

Along with helping your grass grow in thicker and healthier, overseeding better equips it against hungry insects, common lawn diseases, drought, heavy foot traffic, and other foes that can weaken or kill the grass over time. By investing the extra time and money into overseeding, you’re lowering potential costs of fertilizer, pesticides, or possibly reseeding the lawn in the future.

Properly secured bird netting is the best option to cover your grass seed with. It creates a minor moisture barrier that can help seeds sprout, and it’s a great way to keep birds away from your seeds. A cheaper, lower-maintenance option is hay or mulch, but these can change the look of your lawn and require cleanup in the case of straw.

Buffalo grass spreads through both underground roots and above-ground stolons. The widespread root and stolon system makes up for this grass’s overall lack of density. It’s a hearty grass, so it spreads on its own slowly, especially considering that most of the male (no staminate) varieties of grass are sterile. You may think about over-maintaining your lawn to encourage growth, but this would have the opposite effect.

DIY is possible with proper tools and knowledge. Professional services ensure even coverage and optimal growth.
