We were not given any contact information for them, and had no contact from them until well after our kitchen demolition began. After we expressed some concerns about coordinating the various activities (we were also having tiling done, and a gas line and appliances installed on our own) we eventually were given his information by a subcontractor. It became apparent that Aspirations Building was not doing a lot of coordinating. At first we didn't notice this, because the cabinet guy worked with Home Depot replacing the parts we needed changed, and handled the measurements, demolition and eventual installation (he did a great job). As with any renovation there were a few issues (electrical, height issues due to previous home owners installing wood floors around rather than under the cabinets). We assumed that all of these were being communicated to the contractor, Chris, who would ensure that everyone was one the same page. In order to schedule our other services (gas, tiling, etc) we asked Chris for an estimated timeline, and a sort of checklist listing what had to happen before other things could happen, so that we could measure our progress and make our plans. He didn't respond promptly to phone calls or emails. And never provided us with the timeline or checklist of services that we assumed existed somewhere. In retrospect we don't think he had anything like that. Each subsequent contractor appeared on the scene only after either WE contacted them directly having pried the information from Aspirations Building, or spontaneously with no warning, and then with virtually no clue what they were there to do. More than once scheduled services had to be rescheduled to do a lack of communication. There were always various (possibly legitimate) excuses, sick relatives, personal illnesses, etc.. but a business working on timelines should have some mechanism to cope with illness and accidents and such, this one did not. When we did manage to schedule services, more than once the sub-contractors were only informed of the job that day, even if we scheduled a week out or more. Even though Chris was the official "Project Manager" he did little or no managing, instead relying on us to do it. If we didn't call or harass him by email, it wouldn't happen. The last piece came when there needed to be some adjustments made to the bar to accomodate the electrical outlets. There was no coordination or agreement about how that would be managed to accommodate our needs, and little interest in working with us. That was eventually settled, but only after going all the way up the chain of command at Home Depot to Store Manager. It was then we discovered that Aspirations Building is the only contractor Home Depot has, and they had no mechanism to address complaints other than direct those to the Aspirations Building. We hope everything is, as promised up to code and done correctly, but our confidence level is not high. Ultimately. four months from start to finish, the work got done, though it felt like more of a DIY project than we intended or hoped. We felt as though perhaps there were some legal reason why a Home Depot needed a licensed contractor of record, but in name only. He seemed entirely reliant on sub-contractors, which isn't necessarily bad, but if he were getting a cut of the total pay, it wasn't clear what his contribution to the project was. When the project was completed there was zero follow up from Home Depot or Aspirations Building. We shall not use them again, though we might contract his sub-contractors directly. We were able to find cabinets and countertops to our liking in our price range. There were a few frustrations like the inability to find decent desk pieces, or corner pieces in the style we choose. The main problem was that Home Depot in our area relies entirely on the services of Aspirations Building Co for contracting. It is their only contractor for kitchens. As such he is overworked, and paid minimal attention to our job, relying on sub-contractors with virtually no communication between them to do the work. At first we didn't notice this, because the cabinet guy worked with Home Depot replacing the parts we needed changed, and handled the measurements, demolition and eventual installation. By in large, we are satisfied with the end result, but it felt a lot more like a DIY project than we hoped for. We met with our Sales Person the first week of January. We were told 3 weeks to get the cabinets. 3 more weeks to order the countertops. Add in 2-3 weeks for various issues. Actual time, 4 months. Three times the estimate. Now some of that was because some cabinets needed to be returned and reordered (one was stained, one was mis-ordered on accident). We will not use Home Depot again.

The interior work done by the contractor was horrible. The biggest problem was with the installation of the cabinets since they weren?t level. They all had to be redone by another company because they couldn?t install the granite countertops. The contractor didn?t take any responsibility for that. He said that he would install a professional kitchen and didn?t have an idea of how he had to install a particular hood that I wanted in the kitchen. Some of the photos that were on his website were of modern kitchen and I then found out that those were just photos on his website. They weren?t of the kitchens that he actually did. It was false advertising and it?s my fault that I didn?t follow through. So it wasn?t good. The granite company recommended another contractor to come in and make them level. We didn?t pay the entire money and there was another $2000, which we didn?t want to give. He abused, yelled and cursed while installing. He also damaged it while installing and installed them upside down. It looked like he wasn?t essentially literate and didn?t read the instructions that came with the cabinets. It was really bad and we didn?t call him back. Initially the price was okay and his punctuality was okay as well. He then came out a couple of times when we weren?t at home and eventually sued for $2000. I ended up giving another $1000. We had hired him to repair the drywall and he did a really good job on that at a really fair price. However, he really didn?t seem to have the skill to do the kitchen remodeling project. Tony is able to visualize a project and decide the best way to make it happen. In most cases, his ideas worked out better than our expectations. Did have to have him redo part of the shower over a misunderstanding of what a soap dish was and where it should go. Some of the painting, the carpet and part of one bathroom were okay. Otherwise, we have had to redo all that was done. I was told that he was paid $70,000 for his services. We have had to pay at least that much to fix his mistakes and do the job correctly. Wanderly is not a licensed contractor. For the most part, he used cheap labor and materials to try to make the house look pretty just before selling it. There was paint on many window frames and hardware, that in some cases is impossible to remove without scratching the surface. The superficial tile installation and tile painting in two bathrooms was a complete waste. We had to rip it all out and start from over. All the plumbing work was leaky and/or defective. He painted the kitchen cabinet doors and did a very poor job rehinging them. All the light and plumbing fixtures he installed were cheap looking and of poor quality. Wandery should stick to staging only."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ca/sausalito/wanderley-staging-reviews-261262.htm"},"position":10}]}

FAQs for cabinet contracting projects in Mill Valley, CA
Custom cabinets are worth the investment to transform the look of your kitchen with a design, color scheme, and aesthetic that’s unique to your home. If you’re looking for cabinets that reflect your personality but are more cost-effective, semi-custom cabinets are a great alternative that allows you to showcase your style, but with pre-made cabinets instead of fully custom. Custom cabinets also provide a 70 to 80 percent return on investment, making them a worthwhile purchase.
The cost of cabinet refacing is $7,230 on average. However, it's possible to pay between $1,200 and $16,000 for this project. Factors like the number of cabinets and the refacing materials impact the total cost significantly.
For example, plastic laminate is the most cost-effective cabinet option for refacing, costing $1,000 to $3,000. If you're looking for solid wood cabinets, you can expect to pay more, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 on average for refacing.
The difference between cabinet refinishing vs. cabinet refacing is that the latter involves replacing most of the cabinet components, whereas the former only freshes the exterior look of the cabinetry.
Cabinet refinishing involves the cabinetry being disassembled, cleaned, and sanded, then a new finish, like paint or glaze, is applied. You can refinish the cabinet doors or go further and refinish the cabinet boxes, too.
Cabinet refacing involves replacing the majority of the cabinet materials, including the cabinet, drawer doors, and hardware. In this process, a veneer is applied over the existing cabinet boxes to make them look new.
The cost to refinish cabinets is $3,000 on average. However, this cost can range from $700 to $6,000, depending on the size and location of the cabinets, the refinishing method, and number of cabinets.
Staining your cabinet doors is the most cost-effective option, costing between $4 and $10per square foot. However, if you choose to glaze them, that price jumps to $10 to $25per square foot.
Custom cabinets cost between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot on average to install. Factors like materials, size, and type of cabinet doors you choose significantly affect the overall cost.
For example, a basic slab cabinet door can cost $60 to $70 for materials alone. As its name suggests, this material is a piece of wood with no unique features. However, a mullioned glass inset panel door, which features a designed glass panel, ranges from $100 to $200 for materials per cabinet door.
