"The team was able to finish the project in the stated time and within budget. Project manager did a very good job putting together a design that looks great. Very happy with the quality of work and the attention to detail The technicians were all very professional and polite. They were very accommodating with a couple of change orders that were made too!"

"Our first renovation with Moriah Remodeling & Construction was in 2017 for the remodeling of our master bathroom. We basically searched online and found a design that we loved and Eran worked with us very well and made it a reality. Because we were so satisfied with his workâ ¦ we hired them recently to remodel our guest bathroom, kitchen and master bedroom. We are really in-love with the new home that they designed and built for us! We really love the new modern look and Eran was perfect in doing just that. We think and know that he can design basically any style! He has that ability to see the overall layout and the details of each remodeling job. We canâ t believe how we were able to incorporate everything we wanted and needed into a single contractor. We knew he was honest and the contract and final costs will be absolutely transparent. When there was a problem, Eran was working on it until it was done the perfect way. He always used the best quality materials and hardware. We canâ t be happier with our stunning and new spaces! They are definitely what we wanted and no one who comes over to our house fails to say  - What a beautiful house!"

"Finally an honest Solar company!! I went through several companies trying to get quotes for one of my properties, either they were ridiculously expensive or they didn't return my calls. A friend of mine referred me to Mega Sun and I have to say I am very pleased. Within a couple days from the initial phone call I already had an estimate and once i decided to go with them the installation was completed in one week. Its been a little over a month since they completed the install and everything is working smoothly.

I was amazed at just how great the customer service was. I just want to say thank you to the whole team who helped out, I really appreciate all your hard work. Now I know you guys are the ones to call for all future jobs."

Residential Design FAQs, answered by experts

Yes, open floor plans can be more expensive to build than non-open floor plans. The primary reason is the need for additional structural support to ensure stability, which can increase construction costs. Additionally, open floor plans need powerful HVAC systems to maintain temperature in a wider space. Finally, open floor plans need more flooring to cover a large area. If you are buying a home with an open floor plan, you won’t see dramatic price differences compared to a home with more rooms.

While the terms 'interior designer' and 'interior decorator' are often used interchangeably, they represent distinct professions with some overlapping work. The primary difference lies in the scope of their projects.

An interior decorator focuses on the aesthetics of a space, making less permanent decisions about decor. Their work involves selecting colors, fabrics, furniture, wall art, paint, and other finishes to 'dress' a room and enhance its style.

An interior designer has a broader scope that includes a decorator's aesthetic focus but also extends to the structural and functional aspects of a space. Designers are qualified to plan layouts, make structural changes, and manage overall functionality. They handle permanent decisions regarding fixtures like cabinets and bathtubs, establish floor plans, and may hire contractors.

Due to the technical skills required, interior designers typically have formal education, certification, and may hold a license, which can result in higher fees. As a general rule, it is best to hire an interior designer for major remodeling projects and an interior decorator for projects focused on establishing or refreshing a home's interior style.

Popular features homeowners add to their game rooms include pool or ping pong tables, arcade machines, home theater systems, gaming consoles, custom lighting, and built-in storage. Many homeowners also add soundproofing, mini-fridges, or wet bars for added comfort and entertainment value. These features will increase your total investment, but make your game room more enjoyable and functional.

Universal design costs can be minimal when you add them during construction; however, adding universal design principles to existing homes can sometimes increase renovation costs. For example, a mid-grade bathroom remodel is estimated to cost around $30,000, while a standard universal design remodel can cost closer to $40,000. Adding accessible design components can include widening hallways ($500 to $2,000), curbless showers ($2,000 to $8,000), and widening doors ($400 to $800). Keep in mind that these increased costs can lead to higher resale values because universal homes may appeal to a wider variety of buyers.

There are differences between universal design and ADA accommodations, but the outcomes are often similar. While universal design is a proactive process that takes a social justice approach to accessibility for all, ADA accommodations are focused specifically on accessibility for individuals living with disabilities. ADA accommodations often take the shape of wider doors and hallways, ramps, elevators, lower counters and sinks, and easy-to-grab door handles; universal design can include these plus emphasize better lighting, tractioned floors, and other building elements that allow all people to use buildings more comfortably.
