"We worked with Ali (sales manager) and Tony (project manager), who took the time to design a project that made sense for our property and our budget, made a number of suggestions and recommendations and were never pushy or tried to "sell" us on something. The crew really went above and beyond to provide top quality workmanship and overall we were in very good hands. Highly recommended!"

"So far, I've been really happy with them. It's one of those things where time will have to tell if it solved the problem. They were good. They did everything they said they're going to do. I would recommend them. This one charged significantly less for the same job. They charged $2000 for the same job the other company would charge $3000. They're better on pricing and they're fully professional."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

A leak under your foundation from a water supply line or sewage line is likely to lead to water pooling on certain areas of your property during rainfall, abnormally fast-growing or green grass in certain sections of your lawn, and differential settlement of your foundation, which can result in large foundation cracks, windows and doors failing to operate properly, a wavy or sloping roofline, or damages or irregularities in your interior walls, including cracks and bulging. If it’s a plumbing line embedded in your slab, you’ll also likely notice above-average water bills.

Yes, the air from a damp basement can travel up into your living area through a process called the stack effect, so moisture, mold spores, and other debris in your basement air can all decrease your indoor air quality on your main floors. Additionally, damp basements can promote the rotting of building materials, which can damage flooring, insulation, and framing on your first floor in addition to materials in the basement.

If foundation problems are not fixed, they will likely worsen over time, leading to more complex and expensive repairs. Neglecting a damaged foundation can cause a range of issues, including:

  • Structural Damage: Minor problems like small cracks can escalate into major structural issues. This can damage the house above the foundation and, in severe cases, lead to foundation walls caving in or a total collapse.

  • Water Damage and Pests: Moisture and water intrusion can cause flooding, mold growth, and pest infestations.

  • Health and Safety Risks: Mold can lead to poor indoor air quality and other health risks, while structural instability poses a significant safety hazard.

  • Reduced Home Efficiency: A compromised foundation can negatively impact your home's energy efficiency.

To avoid these escalating problems and costs, it's best to hire a foundation repair company to address any issues as soon as you become aware of them. The earlier problems are discovered and fixed, the lower the repair cost will likely be.

A plastic vapor barrier should completely cover your basement to prevent water from penetrating through the walls. This typically goes before installing insulation to prevent moisture from building up and becoming trapped on the inside of your insulation, where it can collect and lead to mold damage. Installing insulation after the vapor barrier allows for any moisture to exit the walls for better ventilation.

Yes, crawl spaces can attract bugs, especially since moisture tends to build up in the space, and moisture attracts pests. A good way to prevent pest infestation in your crawl space is to install a vapor barrier—called crawl space encapsulation—on the interior to seal the space, along with a French drain or some other kind of foundation drainage system outside to keep runoff out of your crawl space. You can also seal foundation cracks and repair damages to cut off access to pests.
