"We have worked with numerous contractors over the years and Borders Electric is the best. In the past we used other electricians and they were inferior to Borders electric in every area. Andrew shows up on time (that is rare) and is a good communicator and easy to work with. His prices are fair and most importantly the quality of his work is outstanding. "This is a 20 year lease to own system. Verengo provided the information for the contract, contacted and coordinated work permits with city and our HOA, installed on time and no hidden costs. Our cost is an annual amount, divided monthly and adjusted to the actual amount of generated power we use. The formula is complicated and bothe Verengo and Sunrun need to work on their presentation information. It is was not completely clear to us that we would have two bills; one from California Edison and as well as Sunrun. Our total bill when averaged over the first couple of years has gone down, but we will not see a true reduction until the lease is off. So essentially should we sell the property, the new owners will save. We are making an investment in the property, as well as using solar to the extent we do. 
We would have rather had a complete system that eliminated the second bill from Edison, this would make it simpler. Of course, Sunrun will say that they will lock in your rate the recharge you for the power generated at a much lower rate than Edison, but they cannot do so for the first two tiers of the bill. Seems like they should wrap their heads around finding away. It is too complicated the way they currently run it.
We are happy with solar and hope doing our part to save the planet in a small way. That said, it could be a much easier process.

"I hired REM Electric off of HomeAdvisor. I would highly recommend this electrician. He does excellent work and came in under budget and on time. He had excellent suggestions on how to save money and how to get the results I wanted. He had no problem answering my questions or even letting me assist in some of the prep work for the job (which saved me more money). I would not hesitate to hire him again. He is not only very friendly, but exceptionally well informed about his trade. He was willing to work with me every step of the project and help me save money by his suggestions. I had others that bid the project lower and others a lot higher but at time and material he was clearly well worth his rate. This was an older (1964) one story residence that was in bad need of upgraded lighting and now the place is well lit and the remodeling is continuing. I replaced ten lights and added an additional 17 more along with two ceiling fans. Now, I can see even when working late into the night. Cannot say how much of a difference this makes. I would rate the quality of his work five out of five, in fact I would give them a six if I could. As far as his customer service once again five and five. As far as the value for the money spent an excellent value. I was able to go up in the attic and view his work and he takes exceptional pride in the quality and attention to detail even for work that is not normally seen by his customers. He is fast and efficient and well worth his hourly rate (I normally do not hire by bids but by hourly â job vs time and material)."
