i have to state that since someone had already messed up this job before Steve Letwinch got to have a go at ,it I was in the mode of watching everything like a hawk.  Two days after the start of the job I found that I could relax--the job site was left clean and swept at the end of each day.  The workers arrived on time everyday and worked at a good pace--I was probably a bit of a painby always "just looking in"  to watch what and how they were doing things.  Boy, what a difference from the other contractor.  Each worker knew what he was doing and they were actually working.  The jobs were tackeled concurrently - mainly the kitchen and the bath .  The third area was installation of the floor part of a deck.  There was some music ,but, it was at an acceptable volume and I noticed when Mr. Letwinch would leave the site for a reason he always spoke to one or two of his workers (I imagine they were his second in command) and reviewed with them what he wanted done,how he wanted it done and when he would be back.  Upon his return I noted that he inspected the work that had been completed in his absence and made sure it was to his standards.  At one point he was not satisfied with the mudding of the drywall and just made the worker redo the wall. He was just as pickey with the painters.  I felt I could relax because he seemed to as picky and detailed oriented as I am. 
The job was actually finished 1 day before it was promised-- that is something I have never experienced before -- and the final product was great.  I noticed that he was double checking valves, plumbing and lighting the day he was finishing.  We did a walk through-- there were no problems.
Seven or eight days later he called me --he had started another job in Mission Viejo and was going to be passing close by my house and wanted to know if he could stop by.  Since I was home and not busy I consented.  He just wanted to make sure in person that I was happy with the job and wanted to know if I had found anything that wasn't to my satisfaction -- I couldn't believe it!   We walked through the kitchen and bath as we chatted  giving me plenty of time to remember if there was any little thing that wasn't to my liking.  As he was leaving he told me he gets most of his work through referrals.  I can understand--I certainly do not hesitate to recommend his work and him when I hear someone is considering doing a small remodel or a whole second story. Also this knows his way around the permit process-- I was very impressed with his interaction with one of the code inspectors that came out to sign off on the job. In talking to the man he does jobs from $5k  to $500K  He can build a spect house or take care of fire damage or do a small deck.  He evidently also gets houses ready for market.  I would use him in the future as he was willing to discuss my problems, what I wanted out of the project and he came up with some great ideas that saved me a little money along the way.

"My parents decided going solar (cause it's the new thing
now). I decided to do the research for them and made sure it will be worth
paying for. I rely on word of mouth and integrity of a business. I came across
a company called American Solar Solutions located in North Hollywood. I wasn't
sure what I was getting into but I decided to give it a try .At first, I had done extensive research on
different companies and read reviews in Angie's list as well. So I went with my
gut and called the company and made an appointment. I gotten a call from the
telemarketer and she confirmed with me the representative meeting with us and
the time he will arrive.
So the next couple of days, my parents and I were scheduled
to meet with a sales representative. The
sales representative arrived and introduced himself, his name was Nir. Nir was
punctual and greeted us with a smile and a warm personality that came with it.
He made us comfortable from the very start. Considering my parents reside in
Long Beach and the office was in North Hollywood, I was a bit impress. He
arrived about 30 minutes early. We welcomed him inside.
As we sat down, he started the ice breaker and said to my mom,
"wow what a lovely house you have!" of course my mom says "thank
you, I'm the only one with good taste." Well started laughing..Right then
and there my parents and I looked at each other and said "Yes" he is
the one! Nir introduced himself and his credentials to the company. He gave us
further details on what his company
offered in additions to solar
panel installation (construction, remodeling etc.) In the presentation he has
showed us testimonials and walked us through the process of using sunlight and
in returned, used as energy. My parents
were closely very attentive to the presentation. Also he explained the
different type of solar panels that his
company was offering. He also specified how much kilowatt (panels) needed for
the house if my parents were to get solar panels. The most interesting part
that really intrigued me was his capabilities to analyze my parents bill
monthly for the next 20 years if we
continued to pay the electric company versus going solar..
Nir also informed us that we are eligible for rebates and
incentives because the government encourages homeowners to go solar and green.
Nir was very patient and clearly answered our questions. He was very pleasant
and nice. He was very professional and
knowledgeable. There was never a question he couldn't answer. We decided
to sign with him because he is very credible at what he does and he conducted
himself with a lot of pride and integrity on his work and American Solar
Solutions.
Nir informed us step by step throughout the whole process of
the job. From inspection appointments all the way when the panels will be
delivered and installed. It was just very smooth to us with NO problems. His
communication skills are just amazing!
He never left out a single detail. He kept his word and he definitely loves his job. We didn't realize the panels
were so quick to install until he called my mom and said "Ms L" we
are done and you can enjoy your solar panels now." Wow that was quick"

solutions and heir services. We especially wanted to thank Nir for his professionalism ,loyalty and most of all honesty..oh forgot his
dynamic personality!

This was a full gut renovation including two full baths, full kitchen replacement, all new flooring, windows, doors and paint.
