"Company assigned a single painter for the exterior painting of a single level, 2000 sq. ft. home. Painting, including some minor stucco repair, was completed as scheduled in 4 days. Ray, the painter, did an excellent job. Would definitely use again. Highly recommend."

"Jose to the rescue, literally.  I needed to get the remodeling of my home back on track and Jose from West Coast Building and Construction, proved to be, one of the best decisions I made since beginning this project.
Three weeks ago, I had hired a sub-contractor to make repairs to the drywall throughout my home.  Well, after weeks with the job still not finished, I strongly encouraged the company to move onto their next job and purchased a coupon from Angie's list for 4 hour of drywall work, to complete my drywall repairs.
Within hours, I was contacted by Joe from West Coast, to confirm my purchase and schedule the date and time for work to begin.  Days later, I met with the owner Jose to discuss the scope of work to be completed.  Jose was prompt, detailed oriented, exceptionally competent, and an overall pleasure to work with.  Most importantly, all work was done as described and cleaned up perfectly.
I already have plans for Jose's company to perform several other projects of my remodeling experience.  I would most definitely recommend  Jose to anyone in need of experienced and professional construction services."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

While it is possible to install a manual gate yourself, it is generally not recommended. Professional installation is strongly advised, especially for automated or large driveway gates. Gates can be extremely heavy, sometimes weighing hundreds of pounds, which makes them bulky and dangerous to maneuver into place. Proper installation requires perfect positioning and balancing to ensure the gate swings smoothly and functions as intended. For automated gates, the wiring is also hazardous and typically requires a licensed electrician. Mistakes during a DIY installation can be costly, as materials alone can average around $1,000. Given the safety risks and the difficulty of achieving a proper setup, it is best to hire a professional gate installer.

Yes, you can convert manual gates to electric operation. Installing a motor and an opening device from a kit allows you to convert any gate so it can open and close automatically. Be sure to buy the correct type of opener for your gate style. For example, some openers are specific to swinging gates, while others are for sliding gates. Get familiar with your swinging or sliding gate parts before you go shopping to avoid having to return to the store for the correct opener.

It can cost $100 to $500 to purchase and install a gate opener. You can use ready-made kits that come with DIY instructions. If you hire a professional gate installer to handle the job, expect to pay an average of $100 per hour or between $200 and $500.

Electric gates can be forced open if someone applies enough force to the edge furthest from the mounting bracket. You can reduce this risk by adding an electric lock to your gate opener. However, automatic gate openers generally help deter intruders, especially when paired with outdoor lighting and security cameras. Other home security tips include trimming trees surrounding the area for added visibility and installing motion sensors in your yard.

Double gates come with the same gaps as single gates, with hinges taking up a quarter of an inch of space. The difference is that double fence gates also have a center gap, which needs a little more clearance. Space the center gap at half an inch instead of the usual three-eighths of an inch for a single gate.
