coverage available. No high-pressure sales tactics - just facts, figures and payment options presented in a pleasant manner for my decision. Once I had enough information to go forward with the transaction, Lisa provided several ways to make payments, set up a payment date that was amenable to me, and allowed me to make all those decisions, explaining that if the date I chose was inconvenient in the future I could change it. I also could change the "contract activation date" choice as well (30 days and 1000 miles or 90 days and 200 miles) before the contract was activated. I chose the 90 option, but a week later changed my mind. I contacted Autopom and requested the change - which they did without a hitch. This kind of service is hard, if not impossible, to find with other auto repair contracts. After I made the purchase, the contract package arrived with a complete and clear explanation of all covered and non-covered repairs as well as how to make claims with appropriate contact information. Autopom also provided several options and services regarding payments which provides great flexibility for their customers. I've since had a few occasion to ask Autopom to adjust a few of my selected options and they made those adjustments right away and in a courteous businesslike manner. The entire process occurred over a period of a week, and both Lisa and the manager/owner (Mr. Mike Jones) handled my calls or emails expeditiously and in a courteous and friendly manner. This may sound like a "paid" comment, but I assure you that it isn't. It's the honest truth. I received no payment, consideration or promises for posting these comments. I am simply conveying my personal experience with this company. It was a exemplary transaction from start to finish, and so far, while I haven't filed any claim with Autopom, based on my experience, I expect that if or when I do, I'll be as pleased with the claim process as I am with the contract purchasing experiend.
everyting went great no probems .
i did my reseach and looked at 5 companys at the start , came down to 2 company and autopom
was number 1 at the end
I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that she was busy and would have to call me back later. I spoke with them at 9 am this morning. No call back all day while I am without a vehicle. It doesn't seem like customers matter. I asked the rep for the corporate info and was told they are just one stand alone company. I asked about the owner, higher level manager etc... he said he couldn't give me any information and I just had to wait for a supervisor to call me which never happened.
"Ms ****** claim was handled per the terms of the contract and per her request, received a prompt full refund (not pro-rated). autopom! and all the administrators we represent are not a "scam" as stated by Ms *****. We are all accredited by the BBB and maintain an A+ rating with thousands of satisfied customers. autopom! is the seller of the vehicle protection plan purchased by Ms. *************. The administrator and obligor of the contract is ******** which means ********** administrates (approves or denies) the claims and is obligated to pay the claims. autopom! does not perform any role whatsoever in the approval or denial of claims. However, autopom!, as the seller of the policy does get involved on occasion when notified by the customer that their claim is being denied. In this case autopom! had no knowledge that the consumer was upset with her claim until we were notified by the BBB and several other online review sites where Ms. ******* filed negative reviews. Consequently, we were unable to offer our assistance to Ms. ******* until after she posted. Normally, if a customer is having difficulty with a claim they will contact us directly and we immediately jump in to help in any way we can. As soon as we learned about Ms. *****'s claim, autopom! contacted the administrator to understand why her claim was being denied. We learned that the vehicle's failure was due to what the administrator considers a pre-existing condition. After receiving a physical inspection report of the vehicle, Ms. [Member Name Removed]'s claim was denied, per the terms of the contract, by the administrator due to a stretched timing chain (not a belt as stated by Ms. ****) being declared a "pre-existing condition". By the time autopom! was notified and got involved, the administrator's decision was already made. autopom! requested reconsideration of Ms. ***** claim but after additional review we were informed the decision was final. The administrator stated that Ms ******* vehicle had only been driven 90 miles after becoming eligible to file a claim. Their position was that stretching of the timing chain was a long-standing condition on this vehicle taking many thousands of miles to stretch to the point of failure and therefore was pre-existing. autopom! was able to facilitate a phone call between the administrator's Director of Operations and Ms. ********. During that call, the Director was able to personally explain to Ms. ******* why the claim was considered pre-existing. As a seller of vehicle protection plans, autopom! is aware of the sensitive nature of claims denial due pre-existing conditions. Consequently, we include the following disclosure with all of our quotes (including the quote sent to Ms. *****) "A vehicle protection plan (VPP), commonly called an "extended warranty" is not intended to fix problems that your car or truck may may presently have. A VPP should not be acquired for the purpose of paying the repair of a pre-existing condition. A problem that exists prior to VPP activation (typically 30 days AND 1000 miles after VPP purchase date) is called a "pre-existing condition". A condition that is pre-existing will not be approved by our contract administrators. Claims made within ninety days after VPP enrollment are especially subject to review to insure that they are not pre-existing. Determination of an issue (mechanical or electrical) as being pre-existing is made by the VPP administrator."
I came very close to going with another company, however come to find out with Lisa's help, they had many complaints and did not have the financial stability nor the reputation of Mercury Select who the coverage is through,. She was great with explaining everything and patient with answering all of my questions. Also, I appreciated that she was no pressure!. Many companies just want your credit card and want you to buy that day. Lisa did not bug me...
In closing, I'm very pleased with the service from auto-POM and the efficiency in which my claim was handled with Mercury.
A++
Since getting the extended auto policy, we have had three different mechanical issues with our car (since 2010). All of them have been covered 100% after our $100 deductible. We have saved a lot more than we spent and we are glad to be covered.
I would highly recommend Auto POM if you want to extend your car's warranty.
