    Less than a year ago, we bought a GE stackable washer/dryer plus 3 year warranty from ABT. We've given them thousands of dollars of business over the past 12 years. The stackable broke and we waited through 3 service calls over a 6 week period, while spending a lot of money at local laundromats. Long waits between service appointments. While waiting for a motherboard to fix the original stacker, the dryer also stopped working. When that couldn't be fixed along with the washer and was told more parts needed to be ordered, I went into ABT customer service twice before finally able to speak with someone available in their service dept during work hours, taking off of my job. I demanded a refund from the manager, who finally said they'll try just one more service call, if that didn't work, he agreed reluctantly to replact the unit after a lot of grief from me. The new unit was installed a week later, which was also defective. It took 2+ hours to dry even a small load. After 2 more service calls and installers saying their diagnostic equipment showed no issues, I again demanded a full refund. The ABT Customer service woman argued with me on the phone for over an hour that it had to be our exhaust - it must be filled up with lint, although none of the technicians mentioned that. One tech mentioned he saw some lint on the outside vent which he cleaned off, but before the unit broke, we had no issues with drying. My handyman and I checked the whole outlet, and there was very little lint and the exhaust fan blowed strong. We took a video proving it. The very mean-spirited "Customer Service" woman argued that ABT would need GE to come out and verify that the unit was defective - she didn't know how much longer that would take. To prove me wrong, she also offered to have ABT pay a service to come and clean out my exhaust vent - again, she didn't know how much longer that would take. I was so fed up, I just told them to keep the $1600 bucks I paid for the stackable, that they've lost my business. She finally said ABT will "accomodate us this one time" by giving us a store credit. Thanks a lot ABT, you've lost a many-years-loyal customer! After a recent remodel, we just bought our new Samsung Washer/Dryer from Home Depot. Took 2 days

    I haven't had any issues with them since I started with them 3 years ago! Greatest thing is I can do the work with either their recommended specialist or with folks I trust and as long as the technician calls for approval things are covered. This company is very reasonable and I highly encourage anyone to consider Complete Appliance Protection

    I feel like it used to be very reasonable but it has just gotten more and more expensive. I'm not really pleased with the price but on the other hand I'm kind of reluctant to give it up. I honestly don't know what other places charge. They've taken away too. There have been times where we were thought "Wow, was it worth it!" but anymore I wonder if it is worth it. I hang on to it just in case. Their service has always been excellent. The only negative thing is a couple of times, not lately but way back, I didn't understand how it worked at the time. I thought we ere going to get reimbursed for a new oven and microwave. We were told that we would get reimbursed but then they wouldn't reimbursed us. I don't remember the reason but it was really upsetting at the time. Something about hitting the maximum for the year. We had a huge plumbing issue that year and we hit the maximum. I think that was the only time I've been mad at them

    It is my gas company, Northern Illinois gas company is called Nicor and they offer a home warranty program that covers items like heating and air conditioning. I guess my point is I don't really know who the servicer is in most cases because they are there representing Nicor. So I think they subcontract it out so the companies that do the work -- I don't know who they are most of the time. The price for the last service was zero because I pay a monthly fee to have the home warranty so there is no out of pocket for each visit. The monthly fee is $99

    I'm guessing CAP doesn't have much or any presence in the Chicago area, because they had no companies they work with that could service either of two different repairs I required... a washer repair and a dishwasher repair. When I first called them, an agent was almost immediately available. She told me to call a repair service of my choice, and then I or the serviceman should call them, once the serviceman had diagnosed the problems. I chose a repairman from Angie's List (Park Ridge Appliance), who was reluctant to come out because he said "my experience has been warranty companies don't pay what I charge for a site visit", which is understandable since his fee for that was at least twice what I've been charged in the past for such visits. He also expected immediate payment. I told him I'd cover it, even if there were a shortfall from CAP. The serviceman ended up not charging for the dishwasher because the issue had to do with improper loading. The washer, including the site visit fee, was $243 ($228 with a $15 "Angie's List" discount). I called CAP, got an agent on the line again almost immediately. He asked how much the bill was and what the problem was with the appliance. I told him and he immediately replied "Ok, you just need to send us the invoice. Would you like us to send the check to you at the listed address, a different address, or would you like us to pay the service company?" I was able to scan and email them the invoice. (The serviceman also offered to email me a copy so it would be in electronic form I could forward). FIve days later, the check arrived. Using CAP was a totally positive experience for me. If you consider it a problem to front the money for a repair because your service provider insists on it, or if it's not easy, convenient, or quick for you to send CAP an invoice (e.g. if you had to use the postal service) and/or it bothers you to wait for the reimbursement), you should inquire whether they have a repair service presence in your area. It didn't bother me to wait and it wasn't a long wait regardless, so my experience was awesome

    It was a two day process. They located the leak through special x-ray equipment after shutting off the water lines to prevent flooding. Mike was in constant communication and made the job a top priority. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and courteous throughout the job. Nothing was done without my approval. It should be noted that OneGuard picked up $1000 of the total cost of the work. Hats off to OneGuard for a job well done
