"Erinn was my initial contact and he gave a very through and fair estimate. We had structural work done to support floor joists and large beams under the garage that needed replacing. Ernesto and his team, Julio, Salvatore and Gilder worked tirelessly to complete the work and were respectful, punctual, informative and good humoured throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. A really great company!!"

"We worked with Ali (sales manager) and Tony (project manager), who took the time to design a project that made sense for our property and our budget, made a number of suggestions and recommendations and were never pushy or tried to "sell" us on something. The crew really went above and beyond to provide top quality workmanship and overall we were in very good hands. Highly recommended!"

"When searching for a general contractor, I was looking for 4 core characteristics: expertise, reliability, trustworthiness, and fairness. Steve Pope of In-Line Construction embodies each of these, and as someone who is known for having exceptionally high standards, I could not be happier with our finished product. I was very thorough in gathering bids from several general contractors, and Steve immediately stood out as someone who is very knowledgeable in his craft, genuinely cares for his clients, and is committed to offering fair and competitive pricing. Throughout our project, his team would show up on time, work hard, and ensure that they cleaned up afterwards. Steve was always swift in his responses to my frequent communication, and stopped by at least every other day to ensure that all was going well. He even personally came to install our shower fixtures on July 4th so that we would have access 1 day sooner! Perhaps one of the things that makes him stand out most, is that unlike so many other contractors, he only charges you for the labor that he provides, and never up-charges for materials, but still gives you access to his discounts and retailer relationships. The quality of the work is outstanding, and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend his services."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

There are a few downsides to a wet room, the most important of which is the risk of mold growth from the moisture and humidity. Standard bathrooms can have the same issue, but wet rooms are more likely to experience problems because water is less carefully contained. You also have less privacy since the entire bathroom is open, and the room must include waterproofing, which makes wet rooms more expensive to install than regular bathrooms.

Yes, it is generally unhealthy and can be dangerous to live in a damp basement. The damp air can negatively affect your breathing and lungs, and the moisture promotes mold growth and pest infestations. Inhaling mold spores or waste particles from insects and rodents attracted to the moisture can be hazardous. This damp, moldy air can also circulate into your main living area. It is crucial to resolve any moisture problems and implement preventative measures before using your basement as a living space.

Yes, basement insulation needs a vapor barrier due to its susceptibility to moisture seeping in from the outside of the house. You should install a moisture barrier before you install insulation or purchase insulation that comes prebuilt with a moisture barrier to avoid water damage in your insulation and costly mold and water remediation expenses.

Installing storm windows can protect your home’s interior from heavy storms. Most storm windows are made with enamel-coated aluminum with screens and sliding glass panels. They also make your house more energy-efficient. The average storm window cost is $12,000, ranging between $4,250 and $19,850, depending on mounting, window types, glass types, and frame materials.

Yes, slab leaks are fairly common, especially in older homes and places that are prone to earthquakes which can move home foundations.
