At Imperial Solar, Imperial Solar is a one stop energy solution company. We specialize in solar engineering, design, installation and finance. We take pride in knowing that our solar installations are helping to improve the future of our children and the health of our planet. We also believe that the customer should be given top priority and that business should be conducted with reliability, honor and fairness.

"Charles and his team at Imperial Solar did an amazing job installing our solar panels. I started searching for a solar company in February 2020 and narrowed my search to 3 companies: Imperial Solar, another local company and Tesla. Communication and customer service are very important to me and that’s main reason I decided to give my business to Imperial Solar. If any of you have ever experienced Tesla's customer service, you will know why. I have a Model X and my past experience with Tesla’s customer service was like talking to a brick wall. Tesla was very impersonal and they never replied to any of my emails when I had an issue with my vehicle. I didn’t want to run into the same issues with Tesla’s Solar customer service. Imperial Solar not only has live people to talk to through their contact numbers but they also replied to every one of my 30+ emails. My work schedule doesn’t allow for much free time so Charles was able to give me a price quote and had the contract all worked out via email. Never once was I pressured with a sales pitch or had a pushy salesperson breathing down my neck. Keep in mind, this was all pre pandemic. Imperial Solar already had the “no touch / virtual service” down even before it was a thing. The contract was Docusigned and we were ready to go…. but then the Covid pandemic hit. Imagine signing a contract and then paying in full to have 30 solar panels installed at the beginning of an unknown global pandemic. Charles put my mind to ease and assured me that the installation can be done with no personal contact. I’m so glad we moved forward with the solar installation. The city permits, solar panel installation, and SCE approval literally took less than 2 months and I was up and running solar before the hot summer months. Imperial Solar did a very clean, thorough job installing the solar. I did encounter only one issue after the panels were installed but it was due to my internet connection and nothing to do with Imperial Solar. I called Charles regarding the system not communicating with the SolarEdge app. He assured me the panels were still generating energy and he was able to troubleshoot and solve the issue that same day. So far my system has been able to produce enough energy to not only charge my Model X but to also allow me to keep my central air constantly running during heatwaves and bad air quality days from the wildfires. So if you’re on the fence deciding which solar company to go with, I highly recommend Imperial Solar. Their customer service, job performance, experience, and warranty is definitely better than any other company out there. And make sure you install soon before they lower the tax rebates next year."

Solar panel services FAQs

The average cost to install solar panels is around $26,600, and most homeowners pay between $4,500 and $53,000. Keep in mind that these prices don’t consider the federal investment tax credit (ITC), which can effectively reduce those costs by up to 30%. The price you can expect to pay for solar panel installation depends on the size of the system, where you live, the type and brand of panels, and the labor costs. Get price quotes from at least three solar companies in your area to find the best deal.

In most states, solar installers need to be licensed and insured as solar professionals, although some states don’t have specific requirements for installers. You can use our state licensing tool to check if an installer you’re considering hiring holds the proper licensing. No matter where you live, a member of your solar panel installation company must be a certified electrician to connect your panels to your home and the electric grid.

There are a few qualifying questions you should ask a local solar panel company before hiring them:

  • Will you handle permits for the installation?

  • Does your total price include the equipment and labor?

  • How long do you expect the installation process to take?

  • What kind of workmanship warranty do you include with your installations?

  • Who should I contact if I have a problem with my system after installation?

  • Do you install the panels or outsource the work to third parties?

  • Will you file for solar incentives for me?

In most cases, yes, solar panels are well worth the investment. Going solar with your home’s energy is expensive, but, in most states, the panels will pay for themselves by reducing your electric bills. Solar panels don’t produce greenhouse gasses or other pollutants, meaning you can feel good about using this renewable energy source to power your home. Plus, installing solar panels can boost your home value, helping your profit off your next home sale.

Yes, solar panel installation will require permits. The required permits will depend on where you live, as some states and cities have solar-specific permits, while others only require electrical permits to connect to the grid. In either case, it’s best to hire a reputable solar installer in your area, as a representative should handle all of the necessary permitting for you and will include the cost of the permits in your initial solar estimate.
