"From the moment we met Emanuel we were impressed with his
focus on customer service and attention to details. When calculating our
estimate he took time to explain what was needed to be done and the steps he would
take. Emanuel encouraged us to take our time in picking colors and getting samples
of colors. We are very pleased with all the colors we chose. Communication was
by email and Emanuel responded to our questions in a reasonable amount of time.
Work progressed according to plan with no delays. The workers were a good team.
They arrived on time every day and were a pleasure to have in the house. They
were careful to protect our floors and furniture. We are delighted with the
results; the house sparkles. If we have painting needs in the future we would
not hesitate to contact Martis Concepts. I highly recommend Emanuel and his team.

"Better than imagined. We got a few quotes from reputable painters in the City. All seemed a little high. I received a message from someone on Angie’s list recommending Tim with ET Painters so I called Tim. Great decision! Tim came out out a Saturday, evaluated the job and gave me his quote. Very personable, honest guy. When I hired Tim I told him that he wouldn’t have to paint around our rain gutters, but then we had new gutters installed. Tim said “ no worries, I’ll just tape the gutters off”. I realize now that was probably a lot of extra work for him, but he didn’t change the quote. He just did it. Our house looks amazing!! Tim did the job quickly, professionally, and was a pleasure to work with. I will hire Tim with ET Painting when we paint the interior this winter. Thanks Tim and ET Painting! Happy Client here."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

Costs range from $2 to $7 per square foot, depending on surface type, paint layers, and removal method.

Linoleum adhesive is quite stubborn, so you may have to try several different methods for removal. You can start with a wallpaper steamer and steam it off or add laundry detergent to water and let it soak into the adhesive. You can try paint thinner directly on the adhesive for about 10 minutes and then wipe away.

Penetrating sealer seeps into concrete pores to protect it from moisture and staining, cracking, and mold caused by water. This means you cannot remove penetrating sealers like topical sealers. The good news is that penetrating sealant doesn’t have to be removed before resealing, as most topical sealers must. Instead, you’ll want to buy a compatible penetrating sealant (often the same kind already in the concrete) and apply it. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Pressure washing is the best way to remove paint that’s already peeling from certain types of vinyl and aluminum siding and some masonry. However, if the paint is largely intact and not yet peeling, or if your siding material can’t withstand the pressure, you may need to use other methods, such as chemical paint strippers, a heat gun, a paint scraper, or sanding.
