"Leo and his company built a fence on the west side of our back yard and it matches the one on the north side perfectly. We’ve hired Paz Fencing a number of times now, and each time we were absolutely happy with the work. Leo uses high quality and the best material, he works accurately, he’s fast and on top of that he’s reliable and super friendly. We trust him to do excellent work."

"Babylon Gardens has been a fantastic company for our large backyard project and we're very pleased with what they accomplished in the last couple months. Professional, responsive and high quality work. Definitely recommend them to others and I'll use them again in the future. The owner Ron is a pleasure to deal with and their field lead Juan is awesome."

"Joe did a great job on everything and much faster than I expected.  See formal review below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have used Joe, the sole proprietor of A-Z Handyman Services, Inc., for many projects over the past ten years, though I lost contact with him for a couple of those years before I moved into a house in the mid-Peninsula about four years ago. He is easily the most reliable, creative, and efficient handyman I have ever used and can efficiently handle most any project.  I would not use any other handyman for any project, or at least would ask Joe first if he could handle it  I know he has access to assistants to handle projects that require more than one person, as he has done that for me on occasion.
About a week ago, I used Joe for about nine relatively small, widely-varied projects, described in the box "what did the provide do."  I have described a few of those projects in more detail below to give you a little more perspective about what he did for me.  All projects were done in record time and in a complete manner.
In one project, Joe had to glue together several broken wooden door and frame parts for a locked door my son had to break into to get some clothes (he did not have a key), and it looks as good as new, though still needs to be repainted.   In another project, fixing a heavy side gate so it would close, Joe could have easily chosen the standard and longer method (thus getting more compensation, as he works on an hourly basis) of taking the gate door down to fix the problem (probably requiring a lot of my assistance), but upon a close review he determined he could put in new and longer screws in such a way that they would up hold up the gate so it would close as it should.
In another project, where we had to go down to the local Ace hardware store to get a part normally needed to fix a sliding cabinet door problem, the part was not available, but Joe determined another method that solved the problem by buying a non-standard part. That saved a bunch of time and allowed Joe to fix the problem that day without having to wait for the part to come in a few days later and come back to my hose another day to complete that project.
I would trust Joe on most any project, and certainly would see if he could do them (I know he will give me an honest answer if he can't) and will even start using him as my plumber, as he quickly identified and fixed a toilet plumbing issue that I thought had been previously been fixed correctly by a locally renowned and heavily sought out plumber.  Joe is all about fixing the problem the first time he comes out, sometimes creatively, if need be, to get the job done then and not at a later date, and always efficiently in a complete manner."

"Manuel did a good job overall. The project took almost twice as long as he estimated. This was due to a variety of factors - difficult soil to dig in, Manuel having some other commitments for certain days and partial days, as well as I believe a general under-estimation of the work on his behalf. Through all these delays he was very patient, flexible, and continued to focus on quality. I also had Manuel do several small things related to the fence that were not originally included such as helping me move the lumber, disposing of some other debris, etc. He was very flexible and willing to do this (at additional cost). In the end, although the project had been fixed-cost, he expected additional payment due to it taking twice as long. On the one hand I understood he had not made the profit he expected and truly deserved from this project. On the other hand, it was a fixed-price job and I did not change the scope so it really wasn't my problem to compensate him for mis-estimating the time required. We ended up agreeing on some additional payment and probably we both had mixed feelings about how fair it was. I understood in detail how to build this slightly unusual (though not that bizarre) fence design and I provided Manuel detailed instructions and feedback throughout. Overall he did a good job and was patient and flexible. I would hire him again for future work but would be sure to clarify the nature of the price and work very very clearly."

"First they came without all their tools and had to ask me for mine. The employees were clearly not given the information about what plants I wanted saved. They trampled everything in the way, destroyed a drip system that was in place, and left mud in the flower beds from digging the post holes. They left with all the left over material that  was part of my bill, and worst of all, they left my gate open and my dogs got out. When I raised the issue about the drip system being destroyed, he just said "that's what happens when you build a fence", One of the most unprofessional services I have ever hired!!

"The owner (Frederick "Michael" Jones, an experienced painting contractor) was very straightforward and accommodating, checking on the job several times per day.  The painting crew (Guillermo, Oliver, and Wilmer, all from Guatemala in their 20's) was exceptionally diligent, considerate, neat, and equally accommodating.  The job began and ended on time.  Though I'm no expert, there are many reasons to believe that the quality of work was high.  As one example, our protruding nails were fixed in a 6-step process: (1) set the nail; (2) prime the nail and surrounding depression; (3) fill the depression with Bondo; (4) sand the Bondo; (5) prime the Bondo; (6) apply the final coat(s).  Our house looks like new; time will tell how long that look lasts."

FAQs for gate repair projects in Graton, CA

Yes, most states require a fencing installer to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed fence installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

When choosing a driveway gate, consider the fence material, whether you want an automatic gate or a manual one, and property limitations like the slope of your driveway. We recommend speaking with a professional driveway gate installer to see what types of gates will work on your property based on your fencing or home’s exterior. Keep in mind that driveway gates should range between 10 to 12 feet wide to ensure cars can easily maneuver through the gateway.

Fence installers typically charge by the hour when working on a project. Typically, you can expect to pay around $50 per hour for fence installation. Your project might take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours, depending on the length of your fence, overall project complexity, and fence type

Driveway gates are expensive to install, but they are usually a worthwhile investment. Not only does this exterior feature improve your curb appeal and, by extension, your property value, but they also help keep your home secure. Driveway can keep out unwanted guests and provide additional privacy for you and your household. Plus, they can serve as a means of keeping children and pets in your yard, depending on the type of fence.

The average cost to install a driveway gate is around $3,500, and prices usually total between $1,900 and $6,000. However, security and driveway gates can cost as much as $12,000. Some cost factors include the size of the gate, the type of gate, the gate material, and the security level of the gate. A wrought iron gate will be more expensive than a PVC driveway gate, which will typically cost more than a wood gate. Automated gates are always more expensive than manual ones, as they require additional electrical installation.
