"The crew was ahead of schedule for the day so they were able to start early. They were thorough, fast and effective at trimming a monstrous tree without littering the neighbor's yard. I'd hire them again."

"Working with “805 Tree Care” was a real pleasure, + they quoted and treated me MORE than fairly, their work was prompt, professional and impeccably done, all with a great team spirit , state of the art equipment and uplifting energy, not to mention by a great family. By far the best tree, garden, landscape experience I have had in Santa Bárbara / I can only recommend them highly to my friends or anyone needing the due diligence and care of great tree people. "Cornejo Landscaping installed turf and border stones in our backyard. The installation was detailed with curves and bends for natural look using border stones and DG for a beautiful finish. We were very impressed with Christian Cornejo and his team as it was evident that they were skilled professionals. We were, in fact, so impressed with Cornejo Landscaping that we then hired them to replace our ugly old broken concrete driveway with beautiful tumbled stone pavers surrounded by DG and California Gold. We collaborated with Christian on the driveway layout and he provided excellent guidance on the design and presented cost saving options to work with our budget. The driveway demo and installation was exact and professional. We are 100% satisfied with the results and many of our neighbors have stopped by to comment on how beautiful the driveway looks. We highly recommend Cornejo Landscaping for any general construction and landscape needs. We would not hesitate to hire them in the future."

"I am beyond happy with the service. On time and went straight to work. Polite and listened to my requests. Cleaned up and removed debris. My backyard looks amazing compared to what they started with as I had a large amount of trees and shrubs. Would highly recommend this company. Plan to use for other services."

"MD Trees did an excellent job at a fair price. I definitely would use them again. They were quick and did a good job on cleanup and haul away. Note to Angies list: I had a hard time finding this page to leave a review. Other than that everything was great."

"The gates I had him install to childproof my staircase would not have worked on my staircase because of the weird structure of the gate fasteners without him buying something at the hardware store to do it. I say this to show how creative he is at solving installation problems and how devoted he is to succeeding at a job. He did a great job. I highly recommend him."

"This is a family business I like dealing with families they were all so nice and professional. Michael was my sales guy, he was very nice, informative and is on top of everything! The guys install my grass very quickly! He called me to ensure everything was good with the install! This is a company I will do business with again! I am a customer service manager and I could have not done any better than this family did!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

In the case that a tree is growing directly on your property line, the cost of maintaining the tree is shared and is the property of both owners in common. In this case, all decisions regarding the maintenance of the tree must be made jointly, and both parties must agree on a course of action. You will need to agree with your neighbor about the cutting of any roots before you carry it out, and your neighbor must also consult with you before doing any trimming. Coming to an agreement with your neighbor about any shared trees ahead of necessary trimming and maintenance will make this process much simpler.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

Absolutely. These steps are significantly easier, too, especially when it comes to preserving the root ball and moving the palm tree. However, you will want to make sure the tree has plenty of fertilizer to establish itself and start growing. Supports may also be more important, as it can take extra time for a potted palm to spread out its roots. If you are transferring a palm to another pot, you’ll want to move up a size or two to a larger pot. Make sure the pot has excellent drainage to keep the palm from getting waterlogged.

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.
