"We hired B & W Handyman through the Angi app to put together a gazebo. Will did the job and It was difficult and challenging but he stuck with it through to the end. He did an excellent job and we look forward to enjoying the enclosure for many years to come. Will was always pleasant and communicated clearly throughout the process. We would hire him again in a heartbeat. It is without reservation that we wholeheartedly recommend him and B & W Handyman."

Small jobs welcome

"Enrique Pelayos did a great job refurbishing our cat tower. We've had the tall tower for years and its like a family heirloom for all our cats. The job was more difficult because we wanted a high-traffic, tough to shred, carpet put on it. Enrique did a beautiful job and it looks like it is brand new. The cats love it and are going crazy scampering up and down the tower."

"Rigo's team has been working on our house for about a year. Projects ranged from installing hardwood floors, replacing all windows, adding recessed lighting, to full-scale remodels of three bathrooms and a rip and replace kitchen. Rigo is godsent when it comes to complex remodeling projects for novices like me. Not only does he do a great job, but he's also proactive. He anticipates potential issues and resolves them ahead of time. Any unexpected setbacks were met with grace and ended up getting resolved in the end. Rigo is receptive to feedback and takes pride in his work. He's also honest - if he doesn't have the skills to do something (which is rare) he mentions it right away and helps find a qualified tradesman to it correctly. Overall, I am very thankful we found him and I'll continue to hire him for any upcoming projects."

"SGK came out and replaced 4 of our windows earlier this year. The team was professional and helpful from the office staff down to the installers. We love our new windows and we won't hesitate to use SGK again for future projects."

"Jacob was professional, meticulous, knowledgeable, courteous and helped us learn the correct way we needed to get several things addressed and fixed in two of our bathrooms (rebuild of a toilet, new valve/fix shower faucet, address faucet issues with a sink, install correct pop-ups for another sink, etc.). I'm grateful for his help and was so pleased with his responsiveness. He is easy to work with and respectful. We will definitely be calling him should needs arise in the future. Jacob was thoughtful and communicative as he readily identified the root issues and took the time involve us in the decision-making along the way for which parts and products to use. I called for an appointment with him based upon his reviews with Angie's List and am pleased to be sharing a strong review for him here as well."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

Selecting the right size wood stove fan depends on the size of your stove and the room it heats. Larger stoves or rooms may benefit from fans with larger or multiple blades, as these can move more air efficiently. Consider the fan's specifications and airflow capacity to match it with your stove's heat output for optimal performance.

Ceiling fans are very often worth the investment because they improve comfort in your living space and help reduce utility bills. In the late spring and early fall—and even in the summer in some areas—homeowners with ceiling fans can often get away with open windows and fans, which can cut down on cooling bills and also reduce wear and tear on the HVAC system. Over time, ceiling fans can pay for themselves by saving you money on electric bills and air conditioner repair and maintenance.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

A small wobble isn’t worrisome, especially when you’re using your fan at top speed, but a significant one is. Ball joint fans, which are used on sloped ceilings, are more likely to wobble than a standard fan based on their design. But even then, you shouldn’t see significant wobbling, as this can be a sign of a bad installation.
