"Alvaro just finished cleaning our very clogged rain gutters and down spouts. The job performed was done to our complete satisfaction; especially the details to "clean-up". All About Cleaning Windows and Gutters is the company to call when a true professional is needed. Thank you Alvaro David J. - Livermore, CA"

"At the time of service, things seemed fine. Upon inspection by our regular contractor, many roof shingles were found to be loosened during gutter instillation that were never re-affixed. So... we ended up paying more for someone else to finish Gutterbusters' job."

"When we finally finished the new house and moved in, we came to the realization that the oak and pine trees were going to overwhelm the rain gutters if we did not find a different solution than the standard open gutter. From the time I first met the sales manager until the day she came by to see how the job went and if we were satisfied, it has been a good experience. Communication was excellent. All appointments were kept promptly, the work crew installing the gutter shields were prompt, courteous and careful. We have seen one solid rainfall since their installation and they seem to be doing the job as advertised."

"GREAT! Really appreciated this company! Another reviewer on Yelp recently spoke to the honesty of this company. I can vouch for the same. Felipe came out today (after we called yesterday, for an estimate), after we discovered them on Angi's list. He spent nearly an hour looking at our upper and lower roof, as we had discovered a water spot on our ground level ceiling. He was very thorough and looked in every place that he thought the roof might possibly admit water, but could not find places where the runoff (from chimney/walls of house) might admit a large enough amount of water that would cause the damage that we were seeing. Instead, he deduced that the evidence seems to be of a plumbing, not roofing issue. He thoroughly checked our roof exterior and told us that he felt the shingles/flashing/nails seemed in good shape for now, and though this type of roof should need replacement soon, he felt it would hold up another 2-3 years. He did not charge us for the estimate, did not try to sell us products we did not need, and could've easily found reason for us to spend money with a roofing company, as another has told us they thought the spotting was a "roof" problem, but I definitely feel confident that their professional opinion reflects honest dealings and when it IS time for us to replace the roof in a couple of years, we will definitely look to this company to work with!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

If you are experiencing minor issues with your gutters, such as a small leak or cracks in one or two sections, it makes more sense to repair the issue than to replace your entire gutter system. However, you may need to replace your gutters if they’re frequently detaching from your home or if you notice a buildup of mold or mildew in your basement.

Minor repairs like sealing small leaks or cleaning debris are DIY-friendly, but professional repairs ensure long-term stability and proper drainage.

DIY is possible for minor leaks or realignments. Professional services handle complex issues like sagging or joint repairs.

The most common problem with gutters is clogging from debris like leaves, blossoms, and seeds from surrounding trees. This debris can block downspouts, leading to improper drainage and water overflow.

Other common issues include:

  • Leaks and holes, which can often be repaired with gutter sealant or caulk.

  • Rust, sagging, or detachment from the roofline.

  • Damage from strong storms.

  • Improperly pitched gutters that don't drain correctly.

Regular cleaning in the spring and fall is the best way to prevent most of these problems. You may need to clean them more often during periods of heavy leaf fall.

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.
