The service was fine. They did a great job. The helmets are working well and we do not have any problem with our gutters anymore.

They were honest although I had a problem because one of workmen ripped a branch off one of my trees. I told the owner and he waived some of my charges and did not charge me for some additional work. The estimator and the actual workers came when they were supposed to. Other than tearing my tree limb off they were good and I will use them again in the future.

I found Gutter Helmet on Angie's List and spoke directly with Kevin Golden, who runs it. He was very professional and courteous and asked lots of questions. Before meeting him, I had met with two other gutter installation outfits so I knew which questions to expect and which to ask. He was able to answer all my questions thoroughly and even gave me a 15% discount because he had been at a local street fair offering this discount but I had been unable to attend this fair. I'm a mom so initially I was a little nervous dealing with all this "man type stuff" but Kevin was very easy to deal with. He is not a "hard sell" type guy. Both crews seemed experienced and cleaned up after themselves for the most part. After the job was completed, I found a bunch of random nails and screws and small bits of metal lying around the garden but the two crews did clean up all the big stuff and swept the driveway really well, so I was fine with picking up a few nails and metal bits. The price was more expensive than the other two outfits I had interviewed, but I felt the Gutter Helmet product was better made plus it comes with a lifetime guarantee. Kevin also assured me he would be happy to follow up with me with regards to any possible questions or problems I might have with the product in the future. He was very sincere and I liked that. I did have one problem. A few weeks after the product was installed, we had some rain. I went outside to check out the gutters as Kevin had suggested. I did spot one problem with one corner where the water seemed to seep down. This had been a problem area to begin with based on the roof design. I called Kevin and within a week or so someone came out and fixed it. We've since had lots of rain this past fall and so far I haven't had any problems anywhere. I did receive a text from Kevin in December 2010 checking to see how everything was working out. I thought that was a great follow up. One other situation (I wouldn't call it a problem) was that initially it took a couple weeks to get the crews out here to get the original work done. Kevin told me they were busy with jobs and he apologized and assured me he would get the work done. I was fine with the short delay since it was still September (well before the typical rainy season). Kevin even offered to do touch-up paint jobs on areas of my house and garage that were affected by installing new downspouts. He said he would do the paint job for free. I declined as I plan on having my house and garage repainted altogether but I appreciated his generous offer. Overall I am extremely happy with Gutter Helmet. I would hire them again.

They have a lifetime guarantee on their work so it didn't cost us anything, just the aggravation caused by the roofing company. We found them at the home and garden show. They had a good reputation and we had seen them out there for a lot of years. We figured they were probably all right since they had been in business for a long time. They had given us an estimate and it all looked good. They said that if the gutters ever clogged or if there was ever any problems, they would service them for free. They haven't clogged and they don't leak. They have maintained their integrity. It was a good product. We had tried all kinds of do-it-yourself products before and these work great.

When we finally finished the new house and moved in, we came to the realization that the oak and pine trees were going to overwhelm the rain gutters if we did not find a different solution than the standard open gutter. From the time I first met the sales manager until the day she came by to see how the job went and if we were satisfied, it has been a good experience. Communication was excellent. All appointments were kept promptly, the work crew installing the gutter shields were prompt, courteous and careful. We have seen one solid rainfall since their installation and they seem to be doing the job as advertised.

They knew their work and they did a good job. They did come late and had to end up working late but that would be the only complaint. Their prices were a little high however they have a quality product.

FOLLOWUP: In addition to our gutter problem, we were having a most annoying noise problem on rainy nights due to rain hitting the end of the downspouts. We tried everything we could to eliminate the noise, including a sponge at the bottom of each downspout. Kevin said he would fix the problem with a compound that works as a sound suppressor.
