"Slab leaks are difficult to trace, this job was even more challenging as one of the major leaks came from my neighbors side. (My garage wall is essentially his fence wall). My neighbor made us wait a month so he could get his vaccines due to CoVid, before Joe would be allowed to go into his back yard to work on the leak. Joe and his crew initially worked on the inside of my garage and replaced a few water damaged bottom plate boards and used a foam, which dried hard as an insulator/sealant. When the next rain came there were still leaks. Joe and his crew happened to come that day while it was raining and assessed the areas. At the end of February they were able to do work on the foundation from the neighbors side. There was a crack along the wall , which they sealed and there was a hole under the dirt line which they found and sealed along the foundation line, filled the hole and had to pour cement under the foundation which had crumbled over the years. The garage is almost 100 years old. After the last rain, Joe contacted me to see if there had been any more leaking, which I was happy to report there was none. Joes brother had repaired my roof earlier in the year and told me his brother was in construction, which is how i came to meet Joe. When i initially called Joe, he came out and spent over an hour trying to figure how the water was entering the garage. Joes crew; George and Jose, were very thorough, easy to work with and communicated with me along the way. Dealing with Joe, I could tell he really wanted to help fix this area once and for all (I have had several contractors attempt to fix the area over the years, but none went the extra mile like Joe did) I would highly recommend Carroll Building Solutions."

"Having hosted the HGTV program “My House is Your House”, we’ve worked with and vetted many cabinet builders across San Diego and Southern California. I cannot understate enough how much of a mistake it was to choose Mr Cabinet Care for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Mr Cabinet Care. We arranged & purchased custom cabinet drawer fronts that were supposed to be high-quality, but they arrived with noticeable gaps. the gaps were problematic for two reasons: 1. for the drawers / doors that closed incorrectly and 2. for being prone to collecting food debris (and unable to clean or remove that debris). When I contacted the company about this clear defect (the food /gap error), they completely dismissed my concerns, blaming “care and maintenance” instead of acknowledging the poor workmanship. Even worse, they provided doctored photos in an attempt to shift the blame, falsely suggesting that residue such as gum or putty had been left on the drawers. Not only was this completely untrue—no such residue existed in any of the photos we originally provided, nor in any additional photos we took. Falsifying evidence to avoid responsibility is not just dishonest; it’s unethical and gives us even greater concern over other claims they’ve made in workmanship or materials. The operations manager even said “The material you selected, White Oak Select, is naturally prone to expansion and contraction due to environmental factors such as heat and humidity. Upon reviewing the photos taken by the technician, it appears that the issues you are experiencing are likely related to care and maintenance, rather than any manufacturing defect.” These were installed weeks prior to our notice, not years later, and during a cool weather season. To claim extreme weather (like heat & humidity) in San diego is laughable and outrageous. Under California law, products like these are covered by warranties ensuring they are fit for their intended purpose. These drawer fronts clearly do not meet that standard, yet the company refused to honor its obligations. Instead of standing behind their product, they chose to manipulate the situation to avoid accountability. Beware if you work with them and have future warranty issues, youre going to likely run into similar defenses and accusations. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this company. If they are willing to misrepresent facts and dismiss valid concerns, I can only imagine how they handle other customer complaints. We regret this purchase for our client and would never recommend them to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship or honest customer service. We will not be using them for any future HGTV projects nor recommending them to other clients or customers"
