"For anyone who is looking for a pool or spa contractor in San Diego, I can't recommend Danny Smith at California Custom Pools highly enough. In the winter of 2023, I hired Danny to remodel the exterior of my pre-existing spa, which was custom-built by another company. It is nearly impossible to find a competent contractor to fix or complete another contractor's job that was done incorrectly or resulted in significant problems, so when Danny and his crew took on the difficult job of remodeling my spa, I knew I was fortunate. My existing spa was surrounded by a wooden deck that was warped and disintegrating, and I had searched for more than a year to find someone to help me with this project. Because I didn't know what the was underneath the deck, it was a challenge for any contractor to bid on this job. Prior to finding Danny, multiple contractors and carpenters quoted me prices between 15-30K given that the possible solutions were contingent upon may unknown factors. However, Danny was able to thoroughly assess the possibilities on location by looking closely at the existing deck and consulting with his crew. He then provided me with several viable options that were within my budget and in less than a month, we agreed on a plan and schedule the demo. In 5 days (including the weekend in-between) the wooden deck was gone and replaced with scored, colored concrete. I was blown away! No delays, no unreturned phone calls, no excuses. Just complete follow-through. And after the job was completed, the crew came back to clean up the rocks and dust from the concrete truck, which I really appreciated. I was finally able to enjoy my spa, which continues to look beautiful, blends with my entire backyard, and is easy to maintain. Overall, I highly recommend Danny Smith with California Custom Pools. who is professional, great to work with, honest, and dependable. His tile/cement crew are skilled in their craft, always arrived on time, and consistently walked me through the process while answering my questions. "We knew what we wanted in a pool. We wanted it to fill most of the back yard with a built in hot tub, swim jets, and a large shallow shelf. Kenny came out and did the initial sales and design work. He was informative, and made sure the pool would have everything we wanted. The crew working on our pool were all polite and professional. I exceptionally liked Mario and his work on our coping and tile. Watching him work it was obvious that he wanted to make sure the job was done right. We had a couple of difficult coping spots because our pre-existing concrete wasn’t poured very level. But Mario took care of it, and I have to say it looks excellent. Corey was the general project manager. He was very accommodating. After seeing the steel frame of our hot tub, I could see that the seat layout wasn’t exactly what I wanted. A few emails later Corey had made the adjustments I requested. Corey also built a custom swim jet system that is much better than the Badu systems I was looking at, for about the same price as the Badu system. After our pool was complete, Enrique showed me the proper way to care for the pool. He also explained what all the equipment was and how it worked. Following the method that Enrique taught me, my pool water looks very clear without it smelling like harsh chemicals. Another thing that I appreciate about San Diego pools is that the equipment they recommended works very well. Out hot tub heats up quickly. Our swim jets are powerful. The large filter makes quick work of the dog hair and other things that fall into the pool. Plus with the three LED lights our pool looks amazing at night. San Diego Pools also took care of all of the required inspection work. They even made the necessary adjustments to my gate to make sure it would pass inspection. The price I was quoted was the final price I paid for the pool. I also knew ahead of time if I was selecting an option that would cost more. This is important to me, I don’t like it when contractors surprise you with hidden costs. Overall, I highly recommend San Diego Pools."

"Class Act - Wonderful experience !!! I n an attempt to remodel my 1973, vintage pool , I sought out 4 pool companies who sent out their sales staff. THEY basically told me what they thought I needed, rather than listening to what I WANTED. I ultimately contacted home advisors who referred me to, MATT , the owner.of of M V DREAM POOLS, a second generation family-owned pool company. Working with MATT was extremely different from the previous pool companies . In fact working with him was an amazing experience and a true joy. He always arrived with a smile, was hard working , very positive , listened to my needs, helped me with decision making, yet did not try to upsell , and his pricing was very fair, He was very professional yet down-to-earth and most importantly, I very quickly grew to trust him which is not common for me, these days. In addition the various crew members who took part in this remodel we're great individuals who certainly knew their craft!! I met and liked every single one if those hard working professionals . Kudos and a big thank you to MV dream pools for a job greatly executed and much appreciated. Ps instead of choosing white Plaster, I went with a deep stormy sea gray pool plaster and blue with grey tile. The water looks absolutely gorgeous."
