Dealt with a reputable pool contractor. My swimming pool installation went flawlessly and couldn't be happier with the service I received. Thank god for the referral I got.

Geremia Pools & Landscaping
5.0
Dee Geremia came out several times with pool plans for us to look at. Each time we had her make changes to the plan as the pool evolved. We were offered a fair price which we accepted. We are under contract for a pool and are waiting for excavation work to start. Dee was always prompt about making changes and always showed up on time. She is very professional and knowledgeable, always pleasant, friendly, and has a lot of patience. Geremia has an excellent reputation and we are sure we'll be happy with the pool

Generation Pool Plastering Inc
5.0
I had hired another pool company and had to terminate them for substandard work; No other companies would touch the job. Burketts did not want to be bothered cleaning up someone else's mess, and I guess I don't blame them-. Finally, I called Valentino the owner of Generation Pool Plastering and he bailed me out.. His crew did an excellent job, good quality work, punctual, and helpful in every way. They were a pleasure to work with; they finished the job when they said they would and worked together with other contractors to make things go smoothly. A big thank you to Val and his crew I will definitely use them again and wholeheartedly recommend them to Angies List members

DAVIS HOME TRENDS
5.0
This review is for Doughboy pool sales only. They do not install, although they can refer you to qualified installers. Both Paula and Ralph helped us through the purchase process of a 28' round Doughboy pool to be sunk half way into the ground. Both were very knowledgeable, gave helpful hints and recommendations, and any answers they didn't know off hand they got within minutes. It is clear they have been doing this for quite some time and they know what they're doing. We are very happy with the material purchase experience. FYI... You'll need a water truck service if not using your own water and an excavator (the pool installer has recommendations for both). You'll also need to hire out your own decking or concrete company for surrounding deck/patio. If you're sinking the pool into the ground and surrounding with concrete you'll need a concrete vendor or contractor to at least provide the slurry and, if you're not a do-it-yourselfer, do the work. This is not easy to find, and according to the installer contractors generally don't do a good job of it unless you have another project for them to do at the same time - like a patio. I highly recommend Davis Home Trends. They are very service oriented and knowledgeable. Been in business a long time as well which speaks volumes for their service. Great people

U BUILD IT SWIMMING POOLS
5.0
I cannot recommend Robert Maudsley highly enough if you are about to embark on an in-ground reinforced gunnite swimming pool. We started our serious search for a contractor about five months ago, at the start of 2013. Went to the home shows, talked to many builders and secured several bids, all of which were in the $50,000 - $60,000 range. As we educated ourself, it became apparent that what really mattered was the quality and expertise of the respective trades who actually do the work. Robert has been in the pool business here in Sacramento for over 40 years now and knows who the players are. It did take him an extra few days to get all of our paperwork together and when we met on a Friday evening to go over everything, which was exactly as he stated he would do, it was all in order and correct. The next Monday I went to the city of Rancho Cordova and was out of there within an hour, permit in hand with no problems and I went about scheduling. Now two weeks later, we are ready for our first inspection with the reinforcement and rough plumbing/electrical in place, gunnite is scheduled for this next week. The way he works is on a consult basis, so once you have your plans and bids it is up to you to put your shoulder to the grindstone and get it done, he is NOT your general contractor and clearly states such in his contract - once you are off to get your permit it is your project, he does charge $250 per hour for additional work after he has completed his contractual commitment, which is for items not included in his consult fee ($4930 in our case) like changes resulting in extra work, running to get your permit for you and so on. He is happy to assist at no charge for minor items or questions, and of course we had a few, but communication is key, he understands that and is outstanding at assisting where needed, there was not even any mention of additional costs as he helped us clearly understand each part of the process and provide assistance over the phone as much as we requested -again, just as he stated at the onset. The first three contractors we choose from the bids provided are first rate professionals who do outstanding quality work. You really need to have the ability to understand the construction process and discuss how you want your pool done in detail with both Robert and the trades, (but really, no greater detail than you would need to do with a General to assure you get what you want - it is, after all, a custom project of your personal design) so I'd pay the extra $18-$20,000 (in our case) a general contractor charges if that is not what you want to do. However, if you want to be involved in your pool construction and save some serious cash, U Build it is the way to go. Now for the update: From when our hole was dug to when we started to fill the pool with water was exactly 90 days, could have been faster but we had some scheduled travel in the middle of construction and we did do some minor parts of the project ourselves which took longer. So if money is no object or working directly with the folks who actually build your pool is not for you, go the typical retail route. If however savings without sacrifice in quality or speed of construction is what you are after, you are really doing yourself a disservice if you do not talk to Robert Maudsley

Cookie Cutter Pools Inc
5.0
Overall, I am enthusiastic about the service we received from Cookie Cutter Pools. The installation of our pool was well organized and most efficient. Once construction started, workers were here every day except when we were waiting for the plaster to cure. All the subcontractors and their workers were most efficient and professional. They kept us informed of the processes, the progress, and when the city inspectors needed to come approve each phase of the installation. The fact that Mr Evans made repairs, without charges, three years after installing our pool is most amazing! If one is considering installation of such a swimming pool, plan ahead! Talk to several companies and especially their customers, current and past. Be sure to have a detailed contract that includes a schedule of tasks to be performed, when payments are due, when the inspectors will come, and what one's own responsibilities are, for example, that one is responsible for sweeping the pool while the plaster cures for 10+ days. Be aware that heavy duty equipment, backhoes, etc. will be coming into the area. Any landscaping, plants, garden, etc. will be leveled and part of the fence must be removed for the heavy equipment. It will be dusty for the duration. Subsequently, the homeowner will be responsible for replacing the fence in order to pass the last inspection. The City of Roseville has specific rules about keeping the streets undamaged by construction equipment and any residue of materials used in the construction. Be sure the contractor is aware of such local rules

Robinson Pools & Spas
5.0
Mike and team built my swimming pool... and they did it quicker and nicer than I imagined. I crack up to this day because I have a friend doing his pool with a national company and he started two weeks after and he is STILL having his pool built (4 weeks after mine is done!). The thing with building a pool is practically every step is a one day process (with some exceptions). So it really comes down to a scheduling thing - how good is the contractor at getting all the subs to do their work in a timely manner? This is where Mike REALLY excels. Once the construction got going, he had someone out there every day doing something. The guys down the street doing their pool (with that same national company I mentioned above) haven't had any movement on their pool in over a week. What gives? I was talking to the guy who does the concrete decking for Mike and he said that Mike is the fastest pool builder he works with. Excellent! When you choose a contractor, you really just have to like their design and their approach to building. The truth is, they all use practically the same subs - so you need someone who is going to hustle the subs and make sure it is being done correctly and on-time. One thing he does is give, by far, the best pool quote/presentation. Most guys will hand sketch your proposed design. Mike will come out there, take exact measurements and when he gives you the quote, show you exactly what your pool will look like. He also has a great concept of construction principles that are integral to building a pool. For example, I had one contractor propose to build into this hill and retaining wall behind my house. While it is possible to do, Mike pointed out that it is very likely that my entire neighborhood has some kind of community drain behind the retaining wall that, if cut, sort of screws everyone and it would need to be repaired. While he wasn't 100% - the fact he was prepared to talk about that shows that he knows what he is talking about. If you call several contractors they will give you a 2 month window from signing contract to starting construction... STARTING! I signed contract and 2 days later Mike put in for the permits and he started about a week after the permits were approved (Rocklin, at the time, took 3 weeks to approve permits!!). Another great thing is he is easily reachable. I'm sure he hates it - but he probably has 1000 texts from me. He was very responsive. This is important - because when you're building a major project, not everything is going to come out as planned. You need to be able to inquire and feel comfortable with what is happening. Problems will come up and they need to be addressed. Having access to the contractor is a real plus. One other great asset is his project manager, Craig. Craig is a former pool builder himself and basically takes super care with your pool to make sure that it is done how he'd want it to be done. Him and Mike are like Frick and Frack... and what I mean by that is they each have different strengths and it helps the process

Generation Pool Plastering Inc
5.0
Service by Generation pools was great from start to finish, staff was punctual and professional, completed in a timely manner, did not even notice work was being done in my back yard...we are very pleased with the service done. The owner Valentino always kept us informed on updates, what step was next and when they would be at our house to do work. After work was completed we got good information on how to care for the plaster and start chemicals on pool ( which was something we never received from previous plastering job we did years ago from another company). We were also given the option to have someone start up the chemicals by recommendation if we were unable to do it ourselves. Everything in our back yard was cleaned after work was completed so we could enjoy the back yard

Burkett's Pool Plastering Inc
5.0
Burkett's removed the old cracked asbestos kool-deck surrounding the pool, poured a completely new pool deck, removed a spa wall, put in new channel drains, pressure tested existing plumbing, replaced old 3 way valves at pump location, replaced old pool light, and refinished the pool with a beautiful new pebble finish along with new tile at the water line. Work was done on time at budget. Communication with me was very good, no surprises. I was out of town for the pool start-up so they coordinated with my regular pool service folks. Had one issue with the way a pool timer was rewired which caused a timer failure. Burkett's replaced the timer at no charge to me. Overall I was very pleased and I love the pool

"Teams worked very hard at their specific jobs. I had to have old pool jack hammered so I was delayed a week. Cleaned up after each job. Only issue was office not returning calls to let me know my schedule."

"It went really well. Valentino (owner) told me a lot about caring for my pool. There were a lot of things I didn't know, as I was a fairly new pool owner. He was very nice and patient...I asked a lot of questions! He was prompt in his responses to them. His crew are hard workers. I give Generation Pools an A+++!

"We felt that the price was a little high but it is hard to tell because we went through our general contractor and we needed a deck and retaining wall. We did decide to upgrade some of the pool equipment and we have been happy with the results.
We have a few spots where the PebbleTec is lifting off of the pool but we have not contacted Adam's yet regarding it. I have every confidence that they will resolve it once we contact them.
I contacted Adam's Pools about a year after the pool was built about a couple of issues with the PebbleTec. It took a little while for them to show up but once they did they fixed all issues at no charge.
