"Excellent service. Mark came prepared with samples of the type of shades I had in mind. He was able to quickly establish the product, color, and type of window covering that pleased me. He was professional, personable, competent and I felt that I was confidently given a very good deal."

"I called and Bernadette made an appoint for Leo to come out and give me an appraisal. Bernadette was very nice and worked with my busy schedule to get an appointment within a few days of the call. Leo came out to my business on time. He was very professional and kind. He listened to what I wanted for the building as we walked around and took pictures. Later that day they emailed me an estimate to have the work done. The price was very fair for the work that was going to be done. I signed the estimate and emailed it back. They set up a date of 11-2-2014.They called me and let me know that they could fit me in a few days earlier, that was great be me, because with daylight savings kicking in soon, I needed the lights as soon as possible. Leo came out installed the lights and they look great. Leo offer the old parts back to me and asked him if he can just take them with him. He cleaned up the area after the work. Fantastic Job!

Lighting questions, answered by experts

You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

The cost to repair a short circuit depends on the type of repair. A faulty outlet or simple loose wire can be a simple fix that might only cost a handful of dollars. For example, if you need to rewire a house, you’ll spend around $2 to $4 per square foot, but replacing an entire electrical panel costs anywhere from $500 to $2,100.

Your maintenance needs revolve around the type of foundation you choose, as well as how you furnish or decorate it. Patios require little else other than the occasional hose-down, but decks and other wooden structures will require annual power washing and sealing. You may also need to restain the wood every two to three years.

Adding a solid roof rather than building a pergola or leaving the space open will make maintenance much easier. Without a roof, you will need to spend more time sweeping, washing, and covering your furniture to protect it from UV bleaching.

If half of a string of Christmas lights is out, it is likely because of a single burned-out, loose, or broken bulb within that section. Long strands of lights often contain more than one circuit, so when one bulb fails, it can cause the entire circuit (or half the strand) to go dark. To fix this, inspect the unlit section and test each bulb to ensure it is tight and functioning properly. Replacing the faulty bulb or repairing a damaged shunt will typically solve the problem.
