"Valencia Vinyl Fence (VVF) matched a competitor's price and because I was told that their vinyl product was manufactured in California to weather our brutal desert sun, I chose to go with VVF. Unfortunately, the installation was substandard. VVF was replacing old wrought iron and I specifically asked if the new fence would cover the nasty bits where the old fence had been attached to the block wall. VVF said yes, but the results were NO. The measurements VVF chose to manufacture was not the same as the pre-existing fence and it looks odd. But even worse was the installer drilled holes in the new vinyl posts to attach the gate backwards. Although they agreed to fix the problem (the concrete had already been poured into the posts), I decided to live with the 18 "oops plugs" inserted into the incorrectly drilled holes. I don't trust them to fix it without damaging the retaining wall the post has been attached to, which would only make matters much worse. My "D" grade for Quality is based more on the installation and the scratches on the fencing and not on durability as I won't know how well it will hold up until time has passed. It looks alright from a distance, so I'll just leave well enough alone.
