"The owner, Todd, is super professional and super friendly. The guy knows what he’s doing! Easy to make accommodations and is super flexible as long as you provide him enough notice. Don’t be surprised if you end up with a family friend after he cleans your floors! It’s a PLUS that there is minimal water used and the results, even after time, are fabulous! (If you’re not one of those throwing around food or oil wrestling! ?) Competitive prices, too!"

"We've used MaxCare Flooring Services before. It was great, a good job. They did pretty good. They also gave us an extra bottle of their cleaning solution which is great and then we called back and we were able to buy another one for spots. They came out to bring us the bottle of spotter that we added later after we finished the one bottle, we were able to purchase more at a reasonable price. They came at the time that we requested."

"I felt the amount charged was high compared considering what was done. Although the work done in the home was satisfactory, certain areas of the home were missed that were agreed upon in the contract. Several ceiling fans in the home were ignored. There was miscommunication on who was to clean the master bedroom. The dressers and furniture were dusted but the room was not cleaned by either of the help. Our vacuum cleaner had to be used because their's threw a belt. The helpers were very nice and professional and got the work done in the amount of time given. The only cleaning crew available to do the work in 2 day advance notice."

"This company was referred to our home to clean/repair/reinstall damaged carpeting after a repair project. We had some third party communication snafus-probably not their fault, but ended up adding 2 more days to the job, and delaying the next phase of the project. Carpeting in the hallways and on the stairs was very heavily soiled and stained, and they did a great job on it. Workers were professional and efficient. The carpeting looks and smells wonderful."

"All demo work went well. Everything was scheduled and went mostly as planned. I had other contractors working during the time Efrain and his crew were there and Efrain was very accommodating. With jobs this size things will never be perfect or go as planned but Efrain is knowledgeable, responsive, and worked to ensure we were happy with our remodel and worked hard to meet our timeline. Efrain quotes a fair price and follows through with what he says he will do. He is experienced, a good listener, and provides solutions to almost any problem put in front of him. Good business and individual to deal with."

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Yes, vinegar and water can strip wax. For a DIY wax stripper, mix about a quarter cup of vinegar with one gallon of warm water. You can also mix one cup of cream of tartar, one cup of white vinegar, and one gallon of water. Before using it on a large area of the floor, you should test it in an inconspicuous place to make sure it works like you want it to.

Clean your vinyl plank floors at least one to two times per week with a broom, vacuum, or microfiber mop. You can save the mopping and disinfecting for your deeper cleans about two to three times a month. Keep in mind that if you find sticky spots, spills, or stains, it's best to take care of them ASAP.

Floor polishing isn’t technically necessary, but it will help your floors last longer and hold up better to scratches. Floor polish is a thin coating that fills in small abrasions on your floor and makes them less visible, and it can act as a protective covering that prevents future damage to the floor underneath. Floor polish helps protect against water and moisture, so it’s a great service if you want to extend the lifespan of your floors. Additionally, polish makes your floors shine, making your home look cleaner and more inviting.

Yes, but with caution. A floor grinder is intended to level and polish concrete, so it is a very powerful tool. To remove paint, the floor grinder should be set to 35 square feet per minute or less to minimize the pressure without the use of pocket weights. You might need to go over the surface two times to get any paint that has sunk into the concrete’s pores.

Yes, you can polish an existing concrete floor—as long as the slab is structurally sound and in good shape. In fact, that’s what makes this type of flooring upgrade so appealing. Polishing works best on bare concrete with minimal surface damage, although you can usually repair cracks and stains before the grinding and buffing begins. Instead of ripping out your existing concrete floor, polishing it can turn it into a high-shine showpiece that’s both practical and sleek.
