"Denise was an absolute pleasure to work with during my kitchen redesign project. Despite the initial setback of a flood, she made the process so easy and stress-free. Denises expertise and guidance in identifying my personal design style were invaluable, and her ability to bring it to life was amazing. She even went above and beyond by coordinating with my contractors while I was out of town, ensuring that everything went according to plan. When we encountered a roadblock with the flooring being backordered, Denise was able to make an executive decision and choose the perfect floor for our kitchen without any input from me. Needless to say, she exceeded all expectations, and we were thrilled with the result. Denise truly has a talent for interior design, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to embark on a renovation project."

"I went through HomeAdvisor website to search for a back splash contractor for our new condo. Somehow, I was added to the "Kitchen Remodel" service so got a call from Carolyn. I explained to her that all I needed was a contractor for a back splash not a whole kitchen remodel. Even though we were not going to use her designer service, Carolyn was kind enough to share with me the reference for her tile installer who also does interior painting which is another service that we need. In my opinion, she is a REAL PRO as other designers may not be willing to extend that courtesy."

"Dora Brigham Interiors did an amazing job on our remodel project! They created a thoughtful, sophisticated design and saved us through their sage advice and relationship management skills with the contractor and other vendors. We transformed our 1950s kitchen and family room into an contemporary, elegant space that looks beautiful, but still feels warm and inviting. DBI thought through all of our needs with a toddler and our love for cooking and hosting parties. They created wow features â eye-catching color contrasts to a stunning rock crystal chandelier. They designed around our life â creating space I didnâ t think existed for better flow and storage. They paid attention to the details â down to the gorgeous handles that are perfect for big and little toddler hands. I would recommend Dora Brigham Interiors 100% on design alone, but it was their support on helping us manage difficult situations with our contractor that compelled me to write this review. I would have been extremely stressed and over budget without their resources and willingness to go above and beyond what some would consider â designâ work. They know the industry, they have the â eye,â and they have the resources to help make your design dreams become a reality."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Most interior designers have at least a four-year degree, if not an advanced degree in interior design. Additionally, many states require interior designers to be licensed. If your state does not require licensing, interior designers can take a licensing exam with the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Overall, licensing requirements vary from state to state, but most licenses require certain education levels and experience to qualify. To check the qualifications of your interior designer, use Angi’s state licensing tool.

Many people, including professionals in the field, use baluster and spindle interchangeably to describe the vertical components of a railing (or technically, a balustrade). However, there are subtle or distinct differences, depending on who you ask. The most common interpretation is that spindles are thin or delicate versions of balusters.

Mid-century modern design focused primarily on two things: simple, functional furniture, often with geometric shapes, and specific color palettes that included earth tones and what we’d today call retro colors. Furniture often blended different materials, like teak or oak wood, with vinyl, metal, and glass. Common mid-century modern paint colors included browns, reds, burnt oranges, yellows, aqua greens, and whites.

Full decorating services often provide rental trees for their Christmas packages, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one. However, individual interior decorators and others may not offer rented trees, so always check the specifics of their services before booking. Keep in mind that you’ll need to prepare the Christmas tree for pick-up shortly after the holidays.

Depending on project size, materials, and complexity, design fees range from $2,000 to $15,000.
