He removed all the grout by hand and his regrout method was so clean. There was no disruption to the family during that time. "George laid out what needed to be done and how he'd do it when he came to bid the work and was also willing to complete some of the half-finished work done by a previous, unexperienced contractor. He didn't try to creep the scope during the course of the work and understood our financial constraints. When we found the need to make a few changes, we negotiated a fair price for a few small add-ons. When the wall repair was much more involved than initially estimated, he brought it up but didn't demand reimbursement. I offered compensation based on what we agreed was fair but didn't feel pressured. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves given how messy leveling floors, cutting tile, and grouting seem to be. My only suggestion would be to work with George on every detail beforehand as I had made some assumptions about aesthetics that may not have been particularly conventional but hadn't communicated them to George. Showing images of how you'd want something to look when it's done will go far in insuring you get what you're after. That having been said I was given some good advice from Felipe on what the height of the kitchen backsplashes should be in our particular case, and from George on which grout would be best suited for our floors and have no regrets having followed those suggestions. In our case, we supplied most of the materials as per George's recommendations. If you want your project to move as quickly as possible, I'd suggest making a list with George of what materials you'll need, what you'll be picking up and what he'll be picking up, and having everything ready on the first day because they waste no time in getting the work done. In short, both George and his colleague, Felipe, work very efficiently with a high level of craftsmanship and I'll hire them again the next time I need tile work done."

"I hired David January 2014 to clean and stretch carpet in a 3 bedroom house in order to extend it's life. I chose this approach because the new tenant wanted to have a dog. David did a great job then, the carpet looked wonderful considering it's age, and it saved me money and avoided the dog ruining new carpet. One tenant recently moved out after 5 months and she apparently didn't know how to clean. I hired David to clean the carpet in that small bedroom. Given it was a small job and David still had to mobilize his van and equipment the price was very fair. David scheduled the appointment. Confirmed the appointment ahead of time, arrived on time, and did a great job. I will hire him in the future to carpet and other floor cleaning jobs.
