Small jobs welcome

"Jeremiah came out and tested the air and moisture and other items to determine if I had mold in my basement. After getting the test results there was evidence of mold and he recommended a company that provides a do it yourself kit for mold remediation. (Not cheap). After getting the items and realizing that there was more work, it would have been better for me to let my insurance company handle this as I do have coverage for mold/fungi. Though having a professional do the work is expensive, from what Jeremiah mentioned, it does not guarantee that the work will be complete or the source of the problem taken care of. He mentioned most companies will take care of the mold but not necessarily the cause of the mold. For this I would have to contact another company."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Using bowls of water for humidity can be an effective way to increase the humidity level in a room, but it's essential to consider potential risks. Placing bowls of water near heat sources might pose a hazard as they could spill, causing damage or creating slip hazards. Moreover, stagnant water can become a breeding ground for bacteria or mold (you really want to get rid of black mold stat) if not changed regularly, potentially negatively affecting indoor air quality. Water bowls can also accidentally spill onto surfaces, causing water damage to furniture or flooring. Regular maintenance and cautious placement can mitigate these risks.

You can kill slime mold with organic fungicides and commercial products like BioSafe Disease Control. However, the following substances will also get rid of slime mold: baking soda, potassium bicarbonate, cornmeal, cornmeal tea, and hydrogen peroxide. Typically, these fungi are cosmetic and rarely harmful to plants, so it’s OK to wait it out. The matter will disappear in a few days to two weeks.

Before you start removing mold, turn off the furnace. Clean away any visible mold from accessible areas using a mixture of water and mild detergent. Change air filters and check for moisture sources like leaks. If the problem persists or it's widespread, hire a local HVAC company for professional cleaning.

Yes, mold can grow on virtually any porous material, including plaster, and can be a pain to get rid of. If you see any signs of mold or mildew growth, call a local mold inspection company to take a look—mold is a health hazard and can spread quickly to other parts of your home.

The cost to remove mold can vary depending on where mold is growing. Areas that are more difficult to access, such as attics, can cost more than spaces with easier access.
