"We used ARS Rescue Rooter on two different occasions during a 1 1/2 week period. They located problems that the city became responsible for and the second time they located and repaired a water pipe leak underneath the slab in one of our bathroom The people they sent, Shai, Kyle and Clint were professional, knowledgeable, clean and quick. Their work was high-quality and I have never seen such complete cleanup. I would highly recommend ARS Rescue Rooter to anyone seeking plumbing and drain work."

"Eric was very straightforward about the job and his honesty was obvious. I had previously hired another plumbing company that wouldn't give a straight answer on the simple task of unclogging a drain, so from now on I'll call this company"

"Jacob did a great job! He came to the house same day and evaluated the issue. He was very knowledgeable and provided great customer service. He went through all our options and didn't pressure us either direction. Jacob was able to resolve the clogged toilet in a timely fashion and no mess was left. It was great service and truly appreciated the professionalism."

"Mike and Kevin did a great job diagnosing and repairing my plumbing issues. First, he installed a new main service shutoff valve and pressure reducer. Then, he correctly diagnosed a broken hot water line under my slab. He and Kevin determined routing for the new line that minimized damaged to my prized Venetian plaster walls. Finally, he installed a new kitchen faucet that I was going to do myself (I hate installing faucets). Mike (the owner of M.L. Plumbing) cared as much about my house as I do. Very pleasant and professional, he went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were satisfied."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A clogged air gap can cause a dishwasher not to drain. There are, however, other potential issues that can lead to improper drainage. For example, if you have attached the air gap to a garbage disposal and forgotten to remove the knockout plug, wastewater may backflow into the dishwasher. Check that the air gap is installed properly, and then look for clogs in the air gap and dishwasher filters.

Professional plumbers use many high-grade chemicals to unclog drains. Many use hydrochloric acid, known as muriatic acid, when it comes to extreme blockages.

Bleach—even diluted bleach—is not always the safest option for cleaning your drains. With a high pH, bleach can be highly corrosive to many types of pipes, especially when used regularly. When mixed with household cleaners and organic waste, it can also create dangerous chemicals. Remember to use proper protective equipment and ventilation when dealing with bleach.

You should flush your AC drain line once every three months to keep it clear of debris and buildup. Keeping your AC drain line clean prevents clogs, backups, mold growth, and extra wear on your AC unit. If you live in a humid area or have several furry pets, up your cleaning schedule to once a month.

If you're dealing with a clogged sink drain, you may be able to avoid removing the drain by using a plunger to dislodge the clog. While we associate plungers with toilets, they can do the same job with your sink drain. Be gentle, though, as forceful movements can push clogs further into your plumbing system and make them more difficult to remove. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.
