"They were fine. It may not have been their fault but the stains came back. We've decided that for the cost of the service, we'd rather invest in a machine. If we weren't doing that, I'd probably use them again."

"I was immediately impressed with Meathead Movers from my first phone call to their company about 4 weeks before my actual moving date. I had the great fortune of working with Ali over the phone and she was always extremely friendly, knowledgable and encouraging. Moving can be a confusing experience and very rarely ever fun, but Ali informed me of every level of service that Meathead offered and never tried to "up-sell" me into something that I did not need. I started off with a contract that included a truck and three movers, but after moving a lot of the smaller items myself in the days leading up to my move, I was able to conveniently pare down my contract (thanks to Ali again) to just having two movers help me move my larger items via a U-Haul that I rented. I was also fortunate that those two movers happened to be Steven and Reno. They showed up promptly and immediately came up with a game plan. After going over a small bit of paperwork, they even offered me a chair to sit back and relax while they did all the hard work! As advertised, they ran back and forth from the truck as they loaded it and did the same when unloading at my new residence. They were careful, professional and worked extremely hard. From beginning to end, Ali, Steven and Reno made what could have been a stressful experience into a pleasant one. They are the perfect representatives of Meathead Movers and I can't recommend them highly enough."

"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Completing upholstery projects in Chico can enhance your home’s resale appeal, especially when you select fabrics that withstand the region’s sun and heat. Updated, well-maintained furniture attracts buyers who value quality and sustainability. For properties near Chico State University, refreshed upholstery can appeal to renters seeking comfort and style, helping your home stand out in a competitive market and potentially attracting more responsible tenants.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Chico often underestimate the time needed for upholstery projects, especially during peak seasons when demand is high. The local climate means choosing UV-resistant, breathable fabrics is essential for durability. Many older homes in Chico have vintage furniture requiring extra frame or spring repairs. It’s also important to check for HOA guidelines that may affect mobile upholstery services, so early planning helps avoid unexpected delays.

Helpful?

Upholstery projects in Chico provide immediate benefits like improved comfort and a fresh look, especially with breathable fabrics that help during hot summers. In the long term, using climate-appropriate materials extends furniture life and supports Chico’s focus on sustainability. Professional upholstery also helps reduce allergens common in the Central Valley, allowing you to update your home’s style without needing full furniture replacements as trends evolve.

Helpful?

In Chico, unexpected costs during upholstery projects often arise from hidden frame or spring repairs, especially with older or vintage furniture. The dry climate can cause webbing and padding to deteriorate, requiring additional work. Opting for UV-resistant or premium fabrics suited for Chico’s heat may increase material needs. Delivery to rural areas, rush scheduling during busy seasons, and meeting California’s fire safety standards can also add to your project’s complexity.

Helpful?

In Chico, whether an upholstery project is finished in one visit depends on both the complexity of the furniture and the local climate. Simple chairs may be completed quickly, but larger or antique pieces often require more sessions due to intricate repairs. Chico’s dry heat can impact adhesive drying times, sometimes making shop work necessary. Scheduling may also be affected by rural access and seasonal demand in the Central Valley.
