"Vitaliy responded quickly and fit me into his schedule at the end of his work day to evaluate my downdraft fan to see if it could be repaired or if I had to buy a new unit. Vitaliy diagnosed the problem, looked to see if the needed part was available, and discussed the pricing with me. The price of repair was MUCH less expensive than buying and installing a new downdraft fan. Vitaliy called me when the part arrived, and came back for the install. Vitaliy was very nice and very professional. He also called me several times to update me on his estimated time of arrival, and this extra consideration for my own time was greatly appreciated. I will definitely call A-Plus Appliance Care again for any future appliance needs."

"Larry is the consummate pro. He's like the Holmes on Holmes of appliance repair. My most recent job (I have used him for 3 years) is the first time he was stumped by one of my appliances. The first solution he thought would work didn't, but then he was at the ready, ordering the correct parts as quickly as possible (My oven is older and harder to get parts for on the fly) and even offering to cover the costs of the first round of parts since they weren't the correct solution. He got it fixed in time for Holiday Entertaining and did it with a smile and a "Merry Christmas".
This is the guy you want coming to your home and fixing what's wrong. He won't make you fix something that isn't broken, he will tell you if it makes more sense to buy something new instead of profiting from fixing your clunker, and if it takes a little longer or comes at an unusual time, he doesn't jack up his prices.
Larry's the best.

"Mr. Garrett was prompt and courteous. He was very knowledgeable about my washing machine and immediately diagnosed the problem correctly. Not only was he helpful with this particular repair but also offered good advice for other appliance problems/issues. The price was very fair. He cleaned up well after taking the machine apart and putting it back together. Communication was excellent. He'll be the first service person I call in future if/when I have any more appliance problems. Highly recommended."

"I needed repair on a KitchenAid counter top mixer. You only connected me to people who service major appliances. It is not their fault that I did not use them. In the mean time, I contacted KitchenAid's US headquarters. They connected me with the regional certified service center. Thanks anyway."

Small Appliance Repair questions, answered by experts

Although some oven doors have screws in them that hold the handle or the glass in place, you should not remove these screws. Your oven’s hinges should pull loose without the need to remove the screws. If you are repairing your oven door, though, you may need to remove some screws.

The average lifespan of a microwave is typically between 7 and 10 years, though this can vary. Some models may last as few as 5 years, while high-end or boutique brands can function for up to 15 years.

Several factors influence a microwave's longevity, including its make, model, and quality, as well as how frequently it is used and how well it is maintained.

To extend the life of your microwave, follow these maintenance and usage tips:

  • Clean regularly: Immediately wipe up spills and food debris. For stuck-on food, you can heat a bowl of water with a bit of lemon juice for a minute to create steam, which makes cleaning easier.

  • Maintain filters: For over-the-range microwaves, regularly clean the grease filter underneath to ensure it runs efficiently. Clean or replace other filters as needed.

  • Handle with care: Avoid slamming the door, as this can damage the door switches over time.

  • Use it safely: Never run the microwave when it's empty, and do not put metal objects or dishes with metallic trim inside, as this can damage the appliance and create a fire hazard.

  • Inspect the power cord: Periodically check the cord for any signs of damage.

While not always necessary, a venting system does help keep your microwave from overheating. It also prevents potential smells from wafting or lingering in your kitchen, which for some homeowners, makes installing a vent over the top of your microwave worth it.

Generally, it will take a few hours, considering the removal of old units and installation adjustments.

The most popular size of wall oven is around 28 inches wide. Ovens are mostly constructed as cubes, and they are described by their width. This size provides a nice balance between cooking space, energy efficiency, and cutout size. This popular size can handle food for up to six people.
