Small jobs welcome

"If you’re looking for a great pool porfessional (and human being), Sean with Sac City Pools is a dream come true! We had a mountain of dead, white algae at the bottom of our pool and no luck finding a company to help until Sean answered our search on Angi. He contacted us within about 10 minutes of our post, took my call at 8:00 PM, and was cleaning our pool by 11:45 AM the next day. He not only brought our pool back to life, he left the water looking more beautiful than ever! Needless to say, we asked him to take over the care of our pool with a monthly service contract. Don’t hesitate to hire Sean at Sac City Pools! (Check out the before and after photos!)"

"Dale offered superior customer service. He immediately reached out upon my inquiry, informed me of what services are offered, was transparent about priming, frequency, and overall operations. He also allowed me sufficient time to review and followed up. The best part was showing the before and after photos while informing me on long term considerations l. I would high recommend Elite Pool Services."

Customers say: Quality work

"Jay Carmody and his sons did a great job on replacing our inground poly-lined pool liner. They were sensitive to making a deadline date because of a Family Party and they delivered as promised. Along the way, they updated us with unexpected additional work for it to be a better result. We could not be happier with the outcome. Their customer service is also impeccable. Months later we had a raccoon incident where the animal scratched a hole in the liner at the waterline. They were on it and came by within 2 days and repaired the hole with the same liner pattern. Only we know there was a hole. Great work, great job and definitely a business to remember for pool repair services."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

The cost to repair a hot tub or spa ranges from about $170 to $550, depending on the repairs needed. Some of the most common hot tub repairs include leaks, clogged filters, and tripped GFCI breakers. If it’s an electrical problem, you should contact a professional hot tub repair service. Don’t DIY electrical repairs on a hot tub, as poorly repaired wiring can make the hot tub a serious electrocution hazard.

Follow these general safety tips for spas and hot tubs:

  • Keep your exterior electrical receptacles covered and dry, especially around your hot tub and pool during periods of use.

  • Make sure you have a GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) properly installed to ensure no one gets accidentally shocked or injured by electrocution.

  • Don’t use the hot tub or your pool during a thunderstorm.

  • Before using the hot tub, have a certified electrician thoroughly inspect your hot tub and its wiring to make sure you’re in full compliance with all applicable local building codes.

Generally, it is more cost-effective and energy-efficient to leave your hot tub on all the time rather than turning it on and off. Reheating a hot tub from a cold temperature consumes a significant amount of energy, so maintaining a constant temperature is usually more economical, especially with frequent use.

For daily or weekly use, it's recommended to keep the water at a constant, reduced temperature, such as between 80 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and then increase it to your desired temperature before getting in. If you know you won't be using the hot tub for an extended period, you can lower the temperature to save on energy costs. However, if you use it very infrequently, you can turn it off completely, as long as there is no risk of the water freezing.

Most hot tubs will experience leaks due to wear and tear in the plumbing or the shell itself. The second most common issue is a heater malfunction due to the ongoing heat stress on moving parts. Finally, clogs happen in hot tub jets, especially when it’s time to change the filter.

When your hot tub is completely dry, there is typically no need to introduce antifreeze into the plumbing. However, if you desire an extra layer of protection against potential freeze damage, you can consider adding some RV antifreeze to your hot tub lines. Just ensure that you use RV antifreeze specifically, as automotive antifreeze is highly toxic and should be avoided.
