"I have been in the business for 40 years and he is the only person that I would hire for doing that particular kind of work. If there is a scale of 1 to 5, he is beyond that scale because he is that good."

"We hired MC Granite, Mauricio Fernandez, to remove old tile countertops and tile backsplash and replace it with quartz for the countertops and the backsplash with those small tile pieces that come in a square (don't know what they're called), install a new sink, faucet, and stovetop hood. They did a great job on all this and did not take too long, actually less than he estimated, so that was good."

"Finally an honest Solar company!! I went through several companies trying to get quotes for one of my properties, either they were ridiculously expensive or they didn't return my calls. A friend of mine referred me to Mega Sun and I have to say I am very pleased. Within a couple days from the initial phone call I already had an estimate and once i decided to go with them the installation was completed in one week. Its been a little over a month since they completed the install and everything is working smoothly.

I was amazed at just how great the customer service was. I just want to say thank you to the whole team who helped out, I really appreciate all your hard work. Now I know you guys are the ones to call for all future jobs."

"Javier and his team at Rivera's Fine Flooring did an excellent job installing new hardwood floors in my home.  I was really impressed by how quickly they were able to get everything done and at how great the place looked when they were finished.  They even cleaned everything up and hauled away the waste.  I own a duplex and am in the process of updating both units.  When it comes time to update the second unit, I will definitely be calling these guys to install the floors.  They were easy to work with, were on time and well priced.

"EDI helped us with our home renovation, which included two and a half bathrooms and our living room. I can only say good things about the work and the process. Asaph made it very easy and simple for us, the work started on time and was completed ahead of schedule. We got exactly what we wanted and I think the price was fair. We plan on remodeling our kitchen next year and hope that Evolve could help us with the next project as well. Thank you very much!"

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Caesarstone® offers both quartz and porcelain counters, which are types of engineered stone countertops. Generally, you can expect to pay $50 to $200 per square foot for quartz countertops. If you decide to go with Caesarstone® quartz counters, then you’ll pay $75 to $125 per square foot, which is in the mid-range of what most quartz manufacturers charge.

Additionally, Caesarstone® is typically less expensive than quartzite, which is a natural quartz countertop that costs $80 to $220 per square foot. Depending on the Caesarstone® countertop you choose, you may spend significantly more on quartzite counters.

If the damage is minor, you can repair countertops without replacing them. You can also resurface a laminate countertop rather than replace it when it gets old and dingy. Countertop resurfacing is a relatively easy project, though it can be time-consuming, so you may prefer to hire a pro to do this for you.

If you want your butcher countertops to last the typical 20 years, you should seal them monthly. Most homeowners use either oil or polyurethane, which helps repel water from the porous material. Keep in mind that if your countertops are in a kitchen, you’ll want to use a food-grade sealant. Tung oil, mineral oil, and beeswax are all popular options.

Concrete and granite are both extremely durable materials. One isn’t necessarily better than the other. It depends on what you’re looking for. That said, granite is less costly and requires less maintenance. Furthermore, concrete is more prone to staining and cracking, though you can patch the cracks using a concrete patching compound.

The least porous countertop material is engineered quartz. Made from a blend of natural quartz and resins, it is non-porous and highly resistant to stains, scratches, and bacteria. This makes quartz countertops exceptionally low-maintenance and durable, ideal for kitchens and bathrooms where hygiene and easy upkeep are priorities. Other non-porous options include solid surface materials like Corian, which also offer excellent resistance to moisture and stains.
