"I am new to this house and not familiar with the irrigation system which was allowing a lot of water to run into the street. Also there was a constant puddle in one area. Mike Elliott came promptly after my call. He recommended replacing the heads to more water conservative models and his crew came out on the same day. Heads were replaced, a faulty valve was repaired and the system was programmed to operate under the new city rules on watering. The whole job took about 2 hours. The crew cleaned up the yard areas where they worked. This company was efficient and pleasant.

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"I looked on Angie's list for a handyman to fix my fence and Mike called me right away. We set up an appointment for him to look at the fence. He arrived on time, fixed the fence very quickly and I had a sturdy fence thanks to him. His pricing is very reasonable. If you need any type of handyman service I highly recommend Mike. He is professional and honest. I call him anytime I have something to fix. And my dog likes him."

"Great experience from day one. What started as a new patio turned in to the backyard of our dreams !! Jimmy is super easy to work with & has a great crew. We trusted them all & couldn't have asked for a harder working crew. The more we got to know jimmy the more we were comfortable adding more to our budget. He really has a great vision in explaining what he can do & turning our ideas into reality. We had no intention of spending this much initially, now we feel our backyard is worth more than we could have ever imagined !! The WOW factor from before & after is truly amazing !! To top it all off we're using jimmys brother Rick of pacific construction services to finish it all off with a patio cover, 12ft by 24ft pool room ( which jimmy also poured & I didn't list above) and a built in BBQ. Valley Concrete gets my highest recommendation for just a super job.

Repair Patio questions, answered by experts

A well-constructed and well-maintained sunroom can last as long as the rest of your house. If you build the sunroom to the same standards using the same quality materials as the house and perform regular maintenance to ensure the room stays in top condition, it can bring you decades of enjoyment.

The cost to build a sunroom averages around $47,000, but the price can range from $5,000 to $140,000 for high-end, custom projects. On a square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $150 and $300. The total cost is influenced by the sunroom's type, size, materials, and other factors.

Common types and their typical costs include:

  • Three-season room: $10,000–$40,000

  • Four-season room: $25,000–$80,000

  • Glass solarium: $30,000–$75,000

  • Conservatory or garden room: $5,000–$80,000

  • Atrium: $10,000–$35,000

  • Prefabricated sunroom: $5,500–$30,000

Additional cost factors include permits, site preparation, foundation type, insulation, roofing, windows, doors, electrical work, heating and cooling systems, and your geographic location.

Yes, a sunroom will require a permit. You may just need a general construction permit for a screened-in porch or solarium. For a three-season room with electricity and a four-season room with electric, heating, and cooling, you’ll need additional permits for each of the utilities, as well as a roofing permit.

Whether a prefab sunroom is worth it will depend on each homeowner’s unique needs and preferences. Overall, prefab sunrooms are a wallet-friendly, speedy, and reliable option for individuals looking to get some vitamin D in a simply-designed yet sunny space. Not to mention, sunrooms can increase your home’s value and the enjoyment you feel at home.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it meets certain criteria. For instance, it must be completely enclosed with solid walls and a roof. It should also have a heating and cooling source similar to the rest of the home. Finally, the porch should have direct access to and from the interior of your house.
