"The crew was prompt and courteous. Part of the prep work was to move plants around the house and on the deck. The work went well and finished on time. They power washed, primed, painted, fascias, wood deck supports, walls and, garage door.
"On going. Very satisfied to date. Handyman returning on Monday, the 16th work on all items but carpet and epoxy in garage. They will send a workman experienced in those areas for these items."
"They did a very good job. The house looks beautiful. They even performed all of the work in 1 day! A couple of things to keep in mind when using this provider. The deals they offer on Angie's List are excellent. However, there are extra costs that can add up, such as painting a detached garage even if the total square footage is under the allowance of the deal. I got a very fair price for everything, but that is important to keep in mind when considering whether to purchase a deal. Second, they are a mom and pop operation and it can be a challenge sometimes to get a hold of them or stick on schedule. It can be difficult to get them on the line on occasion. I've used them 3 times, and the work has been rescheduled at least once each time. Make sure you have some flexibility when considering whether to purchase a deal through them. They do excellent work when they get out there!"
"Initially hired KTD to frame the addition of a cottage. They completed on time and were professional. I hired them again to re do my patio structure. All has been great! Thank you!"
"A leaking water heater caused water damage to the garage wall and adjacent bedroom. We were able to prevent further damage by diverting the water leak. Aaron quickly assessed the situation and formulated a plan. He removed the old water heater, dried the garage area, installed new insulation and sheetrock, and prepared the area for the new water heater. Next, he removed the damaged drywall in the bedroom and monitored the drying out process. When the area was completely dry, he replaced and texturized the new drywall. All of Aaron?s work is excellent, but he is an outstanding drywall artisan. The match to the original texture is amazing. I give him my highest recommendation. "
"Spectrum One is our choice over and over again for renovating our home, which was built in the 1960s. Dennis comes out and looks at the scope of the project and gets back to you in a timely manner with an incredibly detailed and professional proposal. He takes into account your vision for the home and offers suggestions for improving the project or explains how the team can make that vision come to life. The project managers who oversee the project from start to finish have been diligent, respectful and ensure that the work being done is of the highest standards. They are on-site every day with a whole team working to get the job done as beautifully and as quickly as possible. The attention to detail from the whole group is what I most appreciate. We have used them for whole-home flooring (removal, installation and baseboards), recessed lighting, countertops, backsplash and would trust them with any project. We recently completed a third project with Spectrum One that included widening doorways, redoing an outdated fireplace hearth, and remodeling two bathrooms. Everyone at Spectrum One is quick to respond, honest, creative, and fun to be around. We love them and highly recommend to anyone looking to do a renovation, repair, or build!"
"He called before he came and advised me how long it would take to get there. He arrived on time and answered all my questions. The installation went smoothly and there is definite difference on how cool the house stays. He even advised me on how I could cool down my garage. I would use this vendor again. "
Common pitfalls include underestimating the cost of site preparation, overlooking permit and utility fees, and not setting aside funds for unexpected changes. Change orders during construction can disrupt your budget. It’s best to plan a detailed budget, obtain multiple quotes, and include a 10% to 15% contingency fund for unexpected expenses.
Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.
There's no simple answer to which is less costly: wood or metal-framed homes. In most cases, metal building components cost more than wooden ones, while entire metal buildings cost less than wooden versions. However, regardless of the exterior framing or structure, each must meet similar building codes. This means that the costs are about the same, even considering that wood will require more maintenance than metal over time.
Generally speaking, building a swing set is cheaper than buying a prefabricated one, but this assumes you have all the tools and knowledge to complete the project. The average cost to build a swing set is $514, but you should also factor in the time and effort it will require—if you don’t want to give up your weekend, it’s worth considering buying instead of building.
Choose a barn door with an extra two to three inches on either side of the frame. The width of the barn door will depend on the type and placement of your track, but in most cases, an additional inch or two will do the trick.
