"Mr Lee was great to work with. He showed up on time and his work was terrific. Afterwards he made sure to clean up everywhere he worked so you couldn’t even tell he was here (except for the repaired work). He replaced drywall from a plumbing issue and also fixed some holes we had in drywall."

"Matt and his crew did a great job!
They were in and out in 2-days (others said it would be up to a week!)
The price was great.
Matt was professional and very easy to work with. He was willing to answer all my questions. He gave recommendations for how to fix the walls (which were damaged by the company that removed the acoustic ceiling). He was professional and gave very good customer service. And they took extra measures to protect our hardwood floors.
The final result looks great!
Previous companies said the ceiling was too damaged by the acoustic removal for them to fix. Or some companies wanted to charge more. One estimate was almost twice as much.
I would highly recommend Matt and his crew. They did an all around awesome job!
Thank you Matt!

"We needed an old retaining wall removed and an engineered, retaining wall built in compliance with the County of L.A. This involved a complicated process and I'm sure Involved time consuming and frustrating procedures. SOS Fencing has been so amazing to work with. They took care of EVERY step and requirement and communicated efficiently throughout the ENTIRE project. I can't give them a high enough recommendation!!! What started out as an overwhelming ordeal with the county, they handled with such expertise and quality. Their prices were reasonable and WELL-WORTH the final outcome. Emilio was especially thoughtful and attentive to all of our communication needs, always in a timely manner. I'm so thankful we were able to find them online with great reviews. I HIGHLY recommend SOS Fencing!"

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Failure to compact the soil during construction is the most common cause of leaning retaining walls. In addition, poor drainage can lead to excessive water pressure behind a retaining wall, pushing against it until it begins to move forward away from the soil it is holding back.

Even if you think you know how to build a retaining wall theoretically, doing the actual work is a completely different story. There are lots of nuances in building retaining walls, and the slightest oversight can compromise their integrity. Therefore, we recommend you hire a pro to build, repair, or replace retaining walls.

Small retaining walls still require a foundation of some kind, typically a concrete footing. This helps to ensure the wall is structurally sound and prevents the ground from shifting over time, especially during those winter freeze/thaw cycles. The footing helps spread the weight of the wall and the load it carries over a larger area of the ground, thus assisting with stability. This is true of small retaining walls, larger rock garden walls, and the like.

Each design is different, so we can’t say definitively if you’ll need a dedicated drainage system in place for a two-foot retaining wall. However, you can likely skip the drainage, as this project is typically served for walls that are 4 feet tall or more. Even with a relatively low wall, consider drainage if you are building on top of clay or poor-draining soil types or if there are buried water sources nearby, like a well used for other outdoor garden projects.

Through proper drainage solutions and compacting the foundation soil.
