"We had a big kitchen remodel with layout changes, so we were a bit nervous at first. Ron made the process a lot easier than expected. He coordinated everything and made sure each step was done properly before moving on. The workmanship is solid, and the finishes look high-end. We?re really happy we chose Ocean Seven Builders!"

"Bobby showed up on time and was extremely knowledgeable about all questions I asked. Along with the new metal awning (12'x30'), I purchased a side wall as a wind break and a lattice cover between the new awning and my old patio. I explained what I wanted and relied on Bobby's expertise to design and install the items connected to the new awning. They came out great and I am very satisfied. I am glad to recommend Bobby for any project. The true test is that I offered to take calls and/or visits to my house if Bobby needs a recommendation. I am that satisfied."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can replace just the fabric on an awning without having to replace the entire awning frame and hardware. This process will take a professional about one to two hours. If you want to DIY, it could take longer, especially for large or retractable awnings. Replacing the fabric on an awning can improve the look of your home and help naturally cool your interior and exterior spaces.

Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.

Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.

Yes, you can convert a fabric awning to a metal one. You just need to swap the fabric for metal panels, which are more durable and weather-resistant. However, the support frame will probably need reinforcement to handle the added weight. You should consult a pro to address any structural concerns.

Minor fabric patching is DIY-friendly, but frame and mechanical repairs should be professionally handled.

Clean regularly with mild soap and water, and retract during severe weather to prevent damage.
