Horizon Landscaping

Very pleased with Horizon. Answered promptly when contacted. Listened to my wishes and created and executed a plan that is beyond my expectations. Very pleasant to work with- would recommend them highly.

Derek & his assistants were dependable, easy to work with and followed up with additional requests that I requested. In fact I hired them a second time for additional work in the back yard and I would hire them again for additional work if ne.

Derek and his crew were wonderful to work with and were very professional in all aspects of the job. He paid close attention to the design I wanted and was able to give achieve the exact look I had in mind. He has extensive landscape knowledge and experience, and it really showed throughout the total project. He and his crew worked through the terrible summer heat to complete the job on time. He has returned several times as part of his follow-up making certain everything is doing fine. I will be hiring him to do the backyard early next year.

It was quickly, they were very cooperative and doing just what we wanted and making changes as needed. They were excellent.

The work that Derek and his crew did was exceptional. The estimated time for completion of the work to be done was one week, and that's exactly how long it took.  They removed an old wooden fence in the back yard and completely replaced it from the ground up with all new posts and fence boards. Derek then put together a custom fence for me in the front based on pictures that I submitted to him of what I wanted. His crew was punctual, courteous and always willing to communicate if there was a question or concern.  I was especially impressed by their actual work ethic. There was no standing around lollygagging or times of idleness, everyone made good use of their time and put in a more than a hard days work.  I am just so pleased with the job they did. The finished product was exactly what I had imagined, and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend Horizon Landscaping to anyone needing their services. They are simply top notch. Derek and his crew completely removed and replaced old wooden fence which was falling apart and were able to remove it and replace the old concrete and posts in the first day.  This was all done while the area they were working in was horribly muddy from the recent rains and fitting in the work between storms.  The soil where the fence is located resembled old river bottom so there was a ton of hard packed clay and rocks and it is like digging in cement when its dry.  Not easy work compounded by a narrow space between the houses so it is pretty much hand work.  After the concrete was hard enough to support the weight, they built out new a fence that is much sturdier and looks much nicer than the one it replaced.  I?ve already had several comments from different neighbors about their work and at least one wanted their contact information.  Derek and his crew were fast and professional and I won?t hesitate to contact him again for other projects.  Very pleased with the quality work and the finished product both he and his crew provided. 

This was a relatively small job as most of the fence had been previously replaced in prior years.  Derek Dubose responded to my call for a bid in a timely manner had the best price for the job.  He showed up to tear out and replace the old fence when he said he would.  He and his helper had to carefully work around a sprinkler system.  The job took several days as new fence posts had to be installed.  I am very happy with the job that this company did.  They were showed up as promised, did a good job, were friendly and professional, and cleaned up after themselves.
I would both use them again and recommend them.

Every aspect of our experience with Horizon Landscaping exceeded our positive expectations. In the initial meeting,
Derek listened attentively to our general concept for upgrading the landscaping in our backyard. On the follow-up visit, he presented an overview of the plan he had developed based upon what we had explained we wanted. While he did not
show us a detailed drawing, he took us through our yard indicating where each feature would be built. His estimate was reasonable, but one element was more than we felt we could afford and Derek made the adjustment to the contract to
exclude it.  Then he set a date for beginning our project.
             Work began promptly on the date Derek had specified. Over the ensuing four weeks, he and has crew arrived in a timely
manner. They worked diligently throughout the day. They conducted themselves with the utmost professional courtesy towards my wife and me, as well as to the neighbors who commented on ?what great workers? they are.
            As the re-building of our yard progressed, my wife and I were amazed by the quality of each element Horizon Landscaping created. For instance, the term ?water feature? can mean many things. In the context of what Horizon crafted in our yard, it means a stunningly beautiful cascade reminiscent of a stream in the Sierras with a lyrical bubbling music that is delightful to hear. The same can be said of the paver patios, the raised planters, the walkways that connect the patios, and
the arbor that beautifully divides our yard into two areas ? all are lovely creations that we are beyond what we imagined they could be.  Across time, our excitement and enthusiasm for the project grew and grew. Indeed, at the end of each workday, my wife loved to hurry home to see what new, beautiful element had been added to our yard.
            When Derek and his team finished, they cleaned the yard, restored a pre-existing walkway that had been damaged by their tractor (they had informed us this would happen and that they would take care of it) and made certain that all final touches
had been addressed meticulously.
            My wife and I highly recommend Horizon Landscaping to you. We are very pleased with the outcome of their work. In the initial paragraph I mentioned that there was ?one element that was more than we felt we could afford.? It is a pergola for the
small, private patio. After seeing all that Horizon had done to artfully recreate our backyard, we?ve decided we will find the money for the pergola, too. We?ve schedule to have Horizon Landscaping back in December. We are looking forward to their return. 

Derek and his crew did excellent work. They were professional, hard working in what is the hottest summer in many years. They were pleasant and communication about what we wanted and what was behind done was reassuring. Our yard has never looked so beautiful .Derek demonstrated true artistry and professionalism. Horizon Landscaping is definitely a service I'd trust to do any landscaping projects I had in the future.

I'd just say they were very good. I would recommend them. He is very helpful, very professional, and I think the price was, compared to, I shopped around, and the price was good.

I had to cap one sprinkler head that they had missed but but I think they worked longer than expected to replace a section of pipe that was damaged by one of the paper stakes. They also replaced some parts of the fence when replacing the fence posts and didn't charge extra for the lumber or time which I would have expected them to do.

Derek and his crew were professional, easy to work with and extremely hard working even in the heat of the summer.  They made changes as requested, offered invaluable input on what would look good, and what would not work. They started and finished in a reasonable time frame with only a few unavoidable mechanical glitches.  They were respectful of our privacy and our property.  They worked harder than any group of workers I've seen in this neighborhood.  I have had them back once for an additional project ans I have another scheduled for after the summer season.  I would highly recommend Derek for any project big or small in his field.of expertise.

I used Angie's List to find this contractor.  He responded to my initial phone call and came to make an estimate very quickly.  He was both friendly and professional.  I had gotten an estimate from another fencing contractor but Horizon's was considerably less.  The work was done when promised and finished in a timely manner.  Two helpers were also used for the job and they were knowledgeable and friendly.  Fence looks great!  I would hire Horizon Landscaping again.

They are putting in irrigation and hardscape for my backyard then the lawn.  Then plants, and trees and some raised vegetable beds. We are doing it as several projects.  Derek is a great guy to work with.  When we finish the projects I will be able to give a more complete review.

Derek the owner was very nice. Price was good. We were happy with the finished job and would use him again. Workers were friendly also.

Sadly I gave them notice as I moved and don't have much of a yard to maintain at the moment. They took care of the yard of the house I rented for over two years and did a great job. If I need help with my new yard I will call them again - and I didn't even know they did fencing. If I need help with fencing I will call them also.

Everything went well and according to plan. Derek and his crew knew what they were doing. They did a good job of working around the rain and still were only maybe a day or less past his estimate. They did a great job of cleaning up. Derek did not hesitate to honor the 10 percent discount. I have a great looking fence! Nice group of guys. His pricing was very reasonable and the lowest bid I received . No one could have built a better fence

We had a new lawn sprinkler valve put in plus 28 ft. of cedar fencing with a gate and metal posts.  After getting other bids from licensed fencing contractor I decided on Derek from Horizon.  The other contractors wanted $1500.00 for just the fencing.  Derek only charged $854.00 to take down and haul away the old fence and put up our new fence.  He put 3 cross boards instead of the standard 2 that others do.  I will definitely hire him to do our other 100 ft of fence that needs to be replaced.

I found Horizion on Angies List.  After having another estimate from another company not on the list, I saw from the break down other company seemed interested in one portion and didn't even include three other projects I described.  Derrick came out, did estimate and described each project and cost.  He actuall listened that I wanted pavers, fence, sod, and maybe the sprinklers repaired.  The other company seemed interested only in putting new spriklers in, and Horizon estimate was more resonable.
