Tinting the windows is also better for your health. Window tint can block the harmful UV rays that come into the windows when you’re driving. Window tint can also be extremely beneficial if you are driving with children who need to be protected from the sun. Window tint is also crucial to add privacy to your car whether you are driving or have the car parked in a lot. Window tint will make it harder for people to see what’s in the car. They will need to come close to the car and peer inside to see your belongings. This makes it less likely for your car to be broken into. 3M Paint Protection Film (PPF) Paint protection film offers more protection than ceramic coatings and waxing. If you are looking for maximum durability and maximum protection, then you need to choose the paint protection film. It completely blocks blunt force from rocks and small objects. If you are hoping to keep your car in pristine condition or possibly resell it later on after a few years, you will want to keep it in optimal condition. Paint protection film is the best way to keep your car looking new for as long as you can. The heat that’s applied when you put the film on will also cause swirl marks and scratches to disappear. The film can also repel water and cause fewer water spots.

"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

Hurricane Film questions, answered by experts

There are many ways to mitigate wind damage. Some of the most common methods include installing storm windows and doors and wind-rated garage doors. When you get a wind mitigation inspection, the inspector will also assess the condition and shape of your roof to see how well it will withstand strong winds.

Most homeowners insurance policies cover skyight damage that is caused by hail. Hail damage is considered a covered peril under most standard insurance policies. However, this only applies if your skylights were properly installed. Also, insurance policies vary, so be sure to check your individual policy to see if skylight hail damage is covered.

If you’re installing hurricane ties, consider other storm-proofing projects. You could call a window pro to install storm windows, get in touch with a door installer to add storm doors, or just ask your hurricane tie installer what other projects they’d recommend you get done at the same time.

During hurricanes or other major storms, high winds can cause objects and debris to fly through the air, which can break your windows. Depending on how strong the storm is, the winds themselves may be strong enough to break your windows, too. Investing in storm windows or hurricane shutters can help protect you against potential window breakage.

In most cases, yes, you should fix hail damage to your roof. For asphalt roofs that experience hail damage, the shingles can crack and tear from impact, potentially exposing the underlayment and other building material underneath to water and pests. You might save an average of $1,100 by neglecting repairs, but water damage can cost significantly more. Even on a metal roof, where penetration isn’t a concern, the dents hail can leave behind can detract from your curb appeal, potentially making your home less valuable.
