"Frank from At Your Service Plumbing was excellent. He responded quickly to my service request, immediately diagnosed the cause of the leak, and got right to work repairing it. He also replaced the shower fixtures and made the shower much more efficient. He was professional, efficient, and reliable. I highly recommend Frank’s services for any plumbing needs."

"We were very pleased with Surface Professionals. James and Anastasiya kept in close contact with us throughout and adjusted dates when we were unexpectedly out of town. Tile looks great; exactly what we wanted. Most appreciative that they carefully protected counters and flooring and did a thorough cleanup. Very professional and we would use them again."

"We had Ocean Seven Builders redo our roof after a small leak turned into a bigger problem. Ron was the one we dealt with, and he just felt easy to talk to from the start. No pressure, no upselling, just explained what made sense. The crew showed up when they said they would and worked pretty steadily through the job. What I noticed most was how clean they kept things?no nails or trash left around. The roof looks great and we?ve had zero issues since."

"Everything went very smoothly. I was able to customize my materials along with some input from Jonathan. I was out of town during the project and this company was very trust worthy and even made good decisions without my presence. The project was done within the time frame estimated along with estimated costs. The workers even hid all my wires from my TV and the finished look is amazing! I get many compliments. I’m looking forward to remodeling both my bathrooms in the near future and would recommend this company to my family and friends."

"I feel extremely fortunate to have found Vicki through Angie's List !  She is an extremely talented person who is very easy to deal with. She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! She is very aggressive in helping me find the best pricing and often times will work with the vendors directly  hence saving me the time.  She also has excellent local contacts.  Everyone I've worked with through Vicki has been timely, professional, and highly competent.
My project is far from complete.  I intend to continue to use Vicki and her expert advice until the end !!!!"

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Yes. Common materials for Roman tubs are acrylic, fiberglass, cast iron, and stone resin. The choice you make can depend on various factors, including weight, cost, durability, style, heat retention, and aesthetics. Ultimately, it really depends on your space to determine the best option.

Epoxy helps protect your garage floor from moisture, staining, and cracks over time. Concrete itself is typically porous, and epoxy fills those tiny holes and creates a smooth finish. Installing garage floor epoxy may also extend the life span of your garage to upwards of 20 years, as it strengthens the concrete and helps prevent water from seeping through it.

When it comes to cleaning bathrooms, bleach usually comes to mind. But like ammonia, bleach can damage acrylic tubs. In fact, many tub manufacturers warn against using bleach on acrylic bathtubs, and doing so could void the warranty on your tub. Again, a gentler cleaner specifically made for acrylic tubs, or one of the homemade methods listed above, is your better bet here.

When buying caulk, look for ones labeled for tub and tile. These have either acrylic latex or silicone compounds. This allows the caulk to stick to smooth surfaces and prevent mildew from forming.

Acrylic tubs can fade or turn yellow over time due to thick layers of accumulated dirt, hard water deposits from minerals, and shampoo or soap dyes. Also, as an acrylic tub ages, it may become dull or change color due to changes in the acrylic itself.
