Brian Godley did a fantastic
job on our landscaping, and was a pleasure to work with. When we moved into our
first house last year the front and backyard needed a total makeover (half-dead
lawns courtesy of the drought), plus the driveway was ugly cracked asphalt. We
hired Brian (after faithfully checking his references) because he had totally
re-landscaped two houses in our neighborhood and we could tell by how they
looked that he did real quality work. He explained the different types of
hardscape?gravel, mulch, artificial turf?and created a design plan for us. He
very patiently went through several re-designs until we settle on what we
wanted, which turned out to be a mixture of artificial turf (which we had
wanted from the beginning) and drought tolerant plants in mulch. We had
originally wanted to replace the driveway with concrete and requested some
pretty brickwork like almost all of the houses nearby had. Brian suggested
instead that we go with pavers, saying that they would really make the place stand
out. He was so right! Ours is the only house with pavers in the neighborhood
and it looks really terrific, we?ve gotten tons of compliments on them. He
helped us select a color palette that matched the house which was had just had
repainted. The workmanship on the driveway as well as a double pathway we had
him do out front shows great attention to detail, you can really tell someone
took the time and effort to do it right. I love plants and flowers, but I
almost love the stonework he did more! Both front and back gardens turned out
great. Instead of a regular square of lawn with plants around it, in the front
the artificial turf looks more like a wave, an accent among the plants in the
mulch. In the back, we wanted to look out and see an expanse of green instead
of brown, and the artificial turf gave us that. (Before you do a project like
this, you say ?fake grass,? but by the end, you?re telling everyone it?s
?artificial turf!, don?t you know??) We even had him put in a hard curb on
front of house, because for some odd reason it didn?t have one. He finished the
job on schedule, which was fantastic, since so many jobs end up running over
the deadline. He used high-end materials, and it shows. We are very happy with
the results, and highly recommend Brian and his company Picture Build to anyone
who wants to turn their current garden/driveway into something really special
to be proud of and to be happy to coming home to every day."

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"Wes and his crew have worked with us before (May 2016 - see prior review ) so our expectations were high based on the prior high-quality experience. They exceeded our high expectations in terms of quality and time to get the job done. His description of his company states 'we build your dreams' and this could not be more accurate. We thought about this space for quite some time and had very specific requests about building materials (we wanted Ipe hardwood and particular stones and particular lights and a particular avocado tree!). He took our poorly drawn sketch and turned it into our dream side yard. Turned out as we expected only the color of the wood really pops and looks amazing against the rock. As with the last job, he pays attention to all of the unseen structural details - the stepping stones are all cemented in and level, the planters - while appearing to be above ground - are all anchored and level. This team really does pay attention to detail and doesn't just throw things together. I have to say - I did not even bother getting a competing bid because our prior experience with Wes was so great and we are so happy with the quality of the work. We'll have him out one more time for a final project we have planned in a year or two - have to dream it up! I told Wes he is always welcome to use our yard as a 'reference' - it is a dream come true space."

"We contacted Gwyny last spring after reading other positive reviews of Bottoms Up on Angie?s List. We had a litany of small- to medium-size projects we wanted to address, but we were overwhelmed at the thought of tackling them all ourselves. We have a small house on a large corner lot, so there is a lot of yard to contend with, and it seemed like her company would be a good fit with the work we were looking to do.

She stopped by a couple days after our initial phone call to walk through the yard and discuss the work: removing turf and replacing with mulch; removing weeds and certain plants in planters and replacing with succulents; installing landscape lighting, etc. She emailed us a quote within 24-hours of our meeting. We immediately felt comfortable with her and were pleased with the quote we received, so we moved forward with scheduling the work.

Gwyny is so knowledgeable, and she has really great ideas about how to create a beautiful and useful landscape. We had a general idea of what we wanted, but she was able to guide us in the right direction through the whole process. For example, we have a large planter surrounding a very large tree in our backyard that was just wasted space. Gwyny suggested turning it into a sandbox, and our two little ones have played in it almost every day since we did so.

Also, since we were having quite a bit of turf removed and replaced with drought-resistant landscaping, she steered us toward Pasadena?s Turf Removal Program. We received a rebate of $1,600, which helped offset the cost of the landscaping.

Working with Gwyny was a wonderful personal experience. She answers the phone AND does the work with her amazing crew of guys. If my wife and I had attempted to do all this work ourselves (in the spare 5-minutes we get each week in between raising our two toddlers), it would have taken us a year or more to do what Gwyny and her guys did in two days. And it may have ended in our divorce. Just kidding. But not really.

We couldn?t be happier with the service we received as well as the end result. Our neighbors and friends have all commented on the beauty of our yard. We receive so much more enjoyment out of it, and the best part is that it requires much less ongoing maintenance than it did before.

We have already recommended Gwyny and her crew to another friend of ours, and we will happily recommend her to any and all that ask!

"We just finished our complete home remodeling project at our home. We worked closely with Nir and his team from start to finish. Nir made sure to come over to our home each day in the morning and to make sure that everyone know his daily tasks and that the work is going according to the plan. Our remodeling project was basically to design the kitchen space, demolish and rebuild the bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry room, to install new drywall all over the garage and to implement a home automation system that will control all the lighting, doors and electronics.
