"We wanted to get on board with the current trend in doorbell cameras. Got a quote from ADT Provider, known as Safe Street USA, and felt their offer was more than fair. We have door sensors and motion detectors inside and the doorbell camera mounted outside. Nice to feel “with the times” in home automation and security."

"Great work and a very fair price with adjusting my security doors that were sticking badly. Trevor was able to fix both doors and now they open easily! I’m very happy with the results!"

"Protect Your Home group with ADT has exceeding our expectations in getting a new home security system. In the end, everything was a breeze and not stressful whatsoever. We tested the siren and our neighbors 2 doors down could hear it; which is what we were hoping for!"

"Yousif installed a Ring door bell and security camera in our backyard, and he had very good suggestions for making it a very clean and professional installation. He made sure everything was working on the Ring app before he left."

"He went out of his way to pick up the keys for my rental condo and take a look at a louvered door that was broken to see if it could be fixed. When he determined that it could not be fixed, he went to Home Depot and located a replacement door. After calling me to confirm that the door he had located would work, he purchased the door and installed it in the condo. The best thing(s) about Dave is (1) that he went out of his way to help me when there was a time constraint to getting this door fixed, (2) he kept me completely informed of his every move and provided his expert advice during the process, (3) he was prompt, friendly and efficient, and (4) he gave me peace of mind of knowing that problems would be handled. His rates are very reasonable and he is always reachable and responsive by cell phone, text or email. I highly recommend I'll Handle It and he will definitely be handling all of my rental condos and home repair needs in the future.

"We utilized C&H for several handyman projects in a recently purchased condo, as well as a full cleaning in advance of move in. The handyman project including replacing the door moulding, and putting new thresholds and weather stripping on the doors. Well done! The cleaning was done well, with particularly work well done in the kitchen area, to include dishwasher, oven, stove top, and all cupboards and sink. The owner of the company, Al, is a highly customer centric individual, whom only wants the customer to be well served and completely satisfied in the project results. He met me in advance of the projects and totally understood the work to be done. He was early for the four times we met, his crew was on time, he gets his hands dirty, he is a problem solver, and he is there for the end of the job for final inspection. He is a man of high integrity. I recommend C&H for any handyman or cleaning needs you may have. Start with Al!"

Security Doors questions, answered by experts

Not all security systems are equal, so familiarize yourself with the many features available and any associated costs. Decide on a wireless or wired system and look at monthly subscription fees to access the service. Finally, read plenty of reviews to check out the efficacy of your intended security system.

It depends on the type of sensor your home security system uses. If it’s a motion detector, any moving thing could set it off, from a roaming pet to a wind-blown curtain. Contact sensors would be triggered by the window being opened or moved. Also, be aware that any sensors placed too close to your vents could trigger false alarms whenever your heat or air conditioning is running.

To prevent false alarms, motion detectors need proper placement and settings. Start by installing them away from pets and windows where outside movement could set them off. Adjust the sensitivity settings to reduce the likelihood of it detecting minor motions. Consider using dual-tech sensors, for example passive infrared (PIR) and microwave technology, to improve accuracy and reduce false alarms. And don’t forget regular maintenance—cleaning the sensor and checking for any obstructions can go a long way in making sure your detectors run smoothly.

Instead of a security door, you might opt for a heavy-duty screen door made from durable mesh, which allows better sunlight and airflow. Additionally, you could enhance security by installing strong locks on your existing door. A double-cylinder deadbolt provides robust security; however, be aware that some local laws prohibit them due to safety concerns during emergencies.

Yes, there are, and they often come with a screw set to ensure they stay secure. They run on batteries, depend on WiFi, and often require a WiFi extender. These typically cost less than $50. Doorbell cameras like these are great for renters who can't install a wired solution. However, a wired doorbell camera is a better choice for homeowners looking to invest wisely in home security.
