"I have worked professionally with RH&D for a few years now and I would fully recommend them for any Hauling and Demo needs. I have used them for many home remodel projects varying in scope from simple debris hauling, to very complicated structural demolition. I have found the pricing very fair and competitive, their scheduling is on time, their demo skills are aligned with professional standards, and this is an odd one.., but important, they fill the truck! That may sound odd but I have worked with with many companies like this and have noticed that Rick and crew consolidate and really pack the truck full to optimize space.., that alone saves me money, very much appreciated. Rick is exceptionally smart, I have no problem pointing to complicated demolition projects and knowing the he and the crew can handle it without any worry from me. I use RHD on average once a month, and sometimes 4-5 times a month on my residential home building and remodel projects. Each time when I return to look at the work it is always done right, very clean, and everyone I have seen working has a great attitude. RHD is the real deal without a doubt, and I count myself lucky to have found them."

"I needed a lot of old furniture and appliances hauled away when I remodeled my home, Zach had no problem getting rid of everything for me. He also did a very good job at explaining the whole process to me and gave a detailed breakdown of pricing."

"I'm very impressed with the excellent job these two young guys did cleaning my backyard! They looked very young, so I honestly didn't expect them to have so much experience and do such an amazing job. They were hardworking, professional, and paid great attention to detail. My backyard looks completely different and so much better! I'm really happy with the results and would definitely recommend them. Great job, guys, and thank you!"

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Most companies that haul away old hot tubs build the cost of disposal into the price. However, there's no guarantee. Always ask for confirmation before agreeing to an estimate. If the removal company does not also dispose of the hot tub, you will need to rent a dumpster or hire a local junk hauling service.

When considering how to dispose of other appliances, a landfill is also usually not an option. The biggest difference is that electrical appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, or dishwashers aren’t as easy to transport as a portable microwave. Some local councils offer bulky uplift services (although a fee may apply), scrap metal recyclers might pick yours up, trade-in options on big items are more common, and some utility companies offer incentivized recycling programs.

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.

In short, yes, contractors should clean up any debris, materials, and tools left from their projects. However, whether their services include a deep clean often depends on the contract. Most homeowners will hire an additional cleaner after construction for a thorough pass through the house to ensure the space is safe and as clean from construction dust as possible.

Costs range from $200 to $1,000, depending on volume, material type, and labor.
