"Eric and his EA Homebuilders team remodeled our primary bathroom, which involved moving walls, framing, plumbing, electrical, installing a tile shower, and finishes. I had never worked with them before. Their quote was competitive, their work progressed at a rapid pace, and they finished the project in the timeframe promised. There were 2 occasions where changes needed to be made and they were reasonably accommodated without any nickel-and-diming. Eric is a great communicator and is always asking the customer if they need anything. Working with a contractor for the first time is always a nervous experience, but EA Homebuilders delivered on everything, and they will be invited to bid on all of my future projects."

"After they redid our counter tops and island, we had them paint out cabinets and build shelves up to the ceiling. The communication was on point this time and the results speak for themselves. Would definitely recommend them to anyone for any home project."

"I have been wanting a pool in my backyard for years now, while I was searching for contractors online, I found Bayside Builders online and decided to call them up for an estimate on building my dream pool in my backyard. They came over and explained everything to me on how they were going to design my pool, what it would cost, and what the entire process was like.I was so impressed with the attention to detail that they took for this project because I never knew it would be so complicated. It looks great now though and more importantly, it gets used often by my family & friends! I highly recommend Bayside Builders for any home renovation project you may have-they are second to none."

"AJ was prompt reaching out and easy to meet and explain our needs to. He s knowledgeable and took the time to explain issues around the house. He got the job done at a reasonable price in a tight time frame. Since I prize integrity most of all, you know, when professionals act professionally and do what they promised when they promised it, we won t hesitate to use him again. I m going to recommend him around my condo complex too."

"I had the Fence Doctor out to fix a section of my fence that had fallen down. They were able to get out to my house quickly and did the work just as fast. The work was very good quality and I have had no problems with the fence since then. I highly recommend them for your fencing needs."

"Ofer recently finished remodeling our house including kitchen, flooring, bathrooms, and garage. Simply put, amazing work from start to finish. He was easy to communicate with and walked us through every part of the project to ensure we fully understood each aspect of the work. The entire team was professional, punctual, and thorough with excellent attention to detail. We had a limited timeline and they made sure the work was completed quickly and as scheduled. Even the neighbors were impressed by their punctuality and discipline! We have a lovely home thanks to Ofer and his team. Thank you for an excellent job!"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

While framing a basement is not as difficult as finishing a basement, it's something you should typically leave to the pros. That’s because if something is installed correctly, it will affect your entire basement. However, you can take care of some of the smaller tasks, like filling holes or putting up some insulation.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

For maximum stability, install grab bars on wall studs, as this will adequately support the weight. However, if you don't have access to studs, you can get by with wall anchors. If opting for the latter, choose specialty hollow wall anchors.

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

Installing a tongue-and-groove wall requires similar techniques to those associated with installing shiplap. However, because of the precision necessary to make each board fit perfectly and the increased material prices, the cost is higher than that of shiplap installations. Expect to spend between $2 and $6 more per square foot for tongue-and-groove walls versus shiplap ones.
