"The company was GREEN SCAPE LANDSCAPING, Jose was the owner and managed the job very well. I am very happy with him and his crew. His price was quite reasonable and I will use him again, as well as recommending him to my neighbors. Thanks! C. Walton"

Customers say: Terrific value

"Work completed in a professional, workmanlike manner. Pro was on time and fully explained the procedure. In addition, resolved an underlying issue and repaired it without additional charges. Work completed ahead of schedule and site was left as clean as it was before work began."

"Just as Joshua promised, the crew arrived at 7:30am on Monday March 13th and began the process of cleaning, stripping and repairing my roof. They also repaired my cracked and torn Parapets and resealed all my skylights and windows. On Tuesday, they finished the repairs and put down the 1st coating of Tan Apoc Sealer. That was followed by a second coat of sealer applied on Wednesday. Then as promised, I received almost 50 pictures of the job from start to finish. IT LOOKED LIKE I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW ROOF. It also made it evident I needed to have some wood repair done to exterior of my house that extends up beyond the new roof. Who knew wood rots? I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with the service and professionalism of AZ ROOF RESTORATION. Now I can use the money I saved to fix that wood rot I mentioned above. Pictures are included below."

"So so I wanted 2 light fixtures installed and there was problems with both, Nick ended up repairing 2 lights instead. I am not allowed by my husband to use unlicensed contractors anymore and was so surprised that Angie's list would recommend unlicensed handymen. How do I in the future be sure I am only hiring licensed contractors?"

"The job was very well done, however I noticed that their was light coming through the door. Upon calling the Co. They were very quick to set up and appointment to repair this very minor problem. It was quite the job, however the Man that did it was very good and the clean up was excellent. I will do much business with these people in the future. I would recommend them to any of my friends. lyfordb"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

A quality, well-maintained PVC decking can last 30 to 50 years. It’s known for being one of the most durable types of decking materials, with composite decking having a 25- to 30-year average lifespan and some softwood deckings only lasting 10 to 15 years. Luxury hardwood decks like Ipe may last longer than PVC decking, but they can cost more and require more maintenance.

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct structures. A porch is a covered structure, usually attached to the front of a home, that offers protection from the elements. In contrast, a deck is an open, uncovered platform, often attached to the back or side of a home. Because porches have a roof, they typically require less maintenance than decks, but both features need regular cleaning and repairs to stay in good condition.

You can build an outdoor kitchen on a deck, but you should choose composite decking since it's more heat-resistant. Metal deck materials like steel and aluminum are also good choices because they're less flammable than wood. You should also consider the weight of the kitchen—make sure your deck can support it and any appliances you plan to use. You should consult a structural engineer to confirm exactly how much weight your deck can safely support when building an outdoor kitchen.

It's okay to walk on a newly painted deck after about four to six hours as long as the weather has been dry. Be sure to wait at least 24 hours before you place any outdoor furniture or grills on a freshly painted deck, though.

Materials for a second-story deck must be weather- and rot-resistant, though the specific choices will largely be determined by your budget and style preference. Pressure-treated wood is on the lower end of the price scale, but it can be customized and stained the way you like it. Composite, on the other hand, is pricier for installation and has fewer options for customization, but you’ll save money and time in the long run because it requires little maintenance.
