"All-Star Tree Service is a truly professional outfit that provided outstanding service in a challenging environment. With temperatures approaching 105°F, and a blazing sun, more than half a dozen workers toiled throughout the day to trim approximately 15 large trees and remove half a dozen smaller trees and bushes that were no longer viable. And, after all that, they raked and cleaned over 1 acre of desert landscaping. Their work product was exceptional at a most economical cost. All of the workers were engaged throughout the day, and the management was present to supervise throughout the operation. I was so impressed with this service that I will, no doubt, utilize them in the future, as well. I would highly recommend All-Star Tree Service for small or large jobs. I have confidence that they would continue to do excellent work."

Although many tree roots will continue to grow after the tree has been cut, there are a handful of exceptions to this rule. While species like elms, ficus, and willows have roots that will regrow with a vengeance, pine, oak, and maple roots will die when they’re cut down. Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

Yes, dead trees are dangerous for several reasons. For one, they pose a falling hazard. Dead, rotting trees can also attract harmful pests. And if the tree died because of a disease, it could spread the disease to healthy trees.

Peach trees grow to be about 25 feet, so keep this in mind for pruning as well. If you plan to DIY, you’ll need to be comfortable working on a ladder. Without pruning, peach tree branches can sprawl nearly as wide as the tree grows tall, so make sure to plan pruning sessions at least once per year in the spring for controlled growth. And if you’re working on a ladder, be sure to follow all safety precautions, especially if you’ll be dealing with falling branches.
